Yea, I ain't got over Kerry yet either.

Never forget or forgive anti-Kerry lie-filled brochures passed out in Southern Baptist churches. That one should have been a clear warning that they will stop at nothing to win. Of course, Nixon/Agnew did even worse things.

Gomer and the Douche - what a pair.

Faux News is THE biggest cancer on this country.

Diagnosed malignant at birth in 1996.

Should be titled: "GOP Death and Misery Push Hits More Snags"

I smell the stench of their hubris three states away, in one that needs the ACA bolstered, not destroyed.

It's his elitist nature.

I suspect his elitist upbringing and coddled, penthouse-oriented adult life block any cognitive dissonance.

Further, I still refuse to believe he initiates and writes all these Tweets. I suspect they are carefully, tactically planned by his minders with the primary objective of creating maximum confusion, fear and anger in the public. Just look at all the massive coverage over a routine political rally and its aftermath this weekend.

They know exactly how to keep 'em dumb, delusional, distraught and distracted!

I hope...

Mexico can continue to afford to maintain, protect and secure this site. With all their on-going budget issues and now two big natural disasters, it may be difficult.

Also wonder if this or any of their other archaeological sites were damaged by the two recent quakes. Thanks for posting the article!

Warpy, I agree.

I still use a tobacco-type juices after 6-1/2 years, plus a cola flavor - but I'm prone to a bit of obsession. I make liquids for several friends, and much of the fun with e-cigs is experimenting with different flavors to suit different folks.

One of the main things I've learned is that different folks have different depths of dependency and chemical addiction and that's true for other addictions such as alcohol, over-eating and drugs. For some, it is easy and for others it may take years to shed nicotine cravings. The key to success is patience. One thing that shocked me - as you said - was that with time, most vapers taper their nicotine level downward on their own, almost as if it is instinctive!

Two things that helped my success with e-cigs:
1. I figured I could spend the same amount on e-cig parts and liquids as I did on cigarettes (which as considerable), and
2. I helped others get started on e-cigs (takes a lot of patience) because I felt I owed society a payback from annoying so many people for over 50-years with my second-hand smoke, LOL.

Congratulations on your progress and 12 years!

I just turned 27 years of ODAT. Always had the problem you mentioned with anything that feels good and as you said, smoking was a constant companion of drinking. After quitting alcohol, I continued smoking for over 20 years - in part because most people I worked around smoked, and also because I thought it was OK to continue something that (I thought) was rewarding. It's a wonder I didn't die of emphysema.

In early 2011, I was going through between 2 and 3 packs a day and quit smoking almost overnight using an e-cig. That was back when they were only available from a few on-line shops and absolutely no local outlets. I really wanted to quit though, because I was hurting and also hurting those around me.

So, I ordered a bunch of stuff from an outlet in CA and got lucky - it worked! I was shocked at how effective the e-cig was - it mimicked having something in my mouth and hand, killed the nicotine craving and provided a "throat hit" like a cigarette. Some of us just can't do cold-turkey. Within a few months my wife and son quit smoking too, using similar stuff I had used.

I highly recommend you try it if you're interested. I wound up helping maybe 200 to 300 people quit just by helping them get started. I made the e-liquids myself and helped folks decide what works best for them with their devices. Just like with alcohol, I think helping others made a big difference in my staying off cigarettes. The main thing is to choose components and liquids that work well for you, be patient with yourself, and keep it simple!

Let me know if I can help.

He'll never outdo "grab 'em by the (you know what)".

He, and all the subsequent protest signs cured us of any national shyness, LOL. John Wayne and Clint Eastwood broke us of all concerns about "SOB".

Don't think any of this is good for our kids. What are they going to do for cuss words when they grow up?

I see the world economy going into a tailspin IF...

South Korea is attacked. That tech bubble we're seeing will be the first to go, along with the value of the dollar (China will see to that).

But, the main thing I don't want is another life lost on this planet to satisfy tRump's ego. Enough have already died in the Middle East and SW Asia under his watch.

September 24, 2017

Nope - didn't say that.

But, I must accept that they have just as much right to exist on this planet as me. I've had to do that in order to stay at peace with the world, or it will drive me nuts. If I allow their flaws to rent space in my head, I'll just die a bitter, hateful old man - and no better a person than them.

They are the ones that must live with and deal with the consequences of those flaws, not me.

For me, the word "accept" means "to be at peace with". It does not mean I have to buy into their crap or agree to it. For example, I accept that my neighbor is a Libertarian and that I cannot change that. And, I may need to work closely with him to cut down a tree or fix a car.

I had to learn many years ago that I can't change other people, as much as I would would like to at times. What I can do however, is try to set a good example for others as best I can, and try to get along with everyone.

Another point here is that nobody has appointed me "labeler in chief" to assign character flaw labels to other folks. Have you been given that authority? Would you be willing to attach that label to that person's coat? Conversely, would you appreciate someone sticking one to you?

Keep in mind that labels can be very destructive in themselves and they tend to be hard, or impossible to remove. Any poor young woman that's been unjustly labeled a whore will tell you that in no uncertain terms, as will anyone labeled as retarded.

Republicans have managed to rent enormous space in American's brains - sowing hatred and division - and we must shut it down.
