Tri West is now the company hanling non-VA care.

From the time they were put in charge of finding me an optometrist to my appointment was 3 weeks. Let us hope that they will do their job every time.

Changes for the worse in optometry.

For those who have not been to the optometrist in the last few months, there has been a change for the worse. I live 75 miles away from Wilmington NC so I use a non-VA optometrist. I am 76 years old and 100% service-connected disabled and have double vision. Until this week, I would go to a non-VA optometrist near me once a year. I would take my prescription to Wilmington where I would be fitted with glasses and they would be mailed to me in about 10 days. This week I went to my non-VA optometrist and then went to the Wilmington VA. I was told that my prescription had to be sent to Fayetteville to be checked to make sure there was enough difference between my old prescription and the new one. If there isn't, you have to wait another year because the VA is now only allowing veterans one pair of glasses every two years unless someone, I don't even know if it is an optometrist, in prosthetics says you really need new glasses. Also since I was already in Wilmington I asked if I could pick out my frames so I would not have to come back if it was approved and was told no. When I was approved, if I was approved I would have to make another 150 mile round trip just to pick out my frames. The first trip is not covered by travel but the second trip is covered by travel. Even if this does not affect you, please contact your local DAV, VFW and American Legion and tell your primary care doctor. The VA keeps says they are making changes for the better. This is not for the better.

I don't think that The Supreme Court will overturn Roe v Wade.

It will be easier for them to just turn it into a states' rights issue.

No problem if you know a girl there about 16

who wouldn't mind being a prostitute in a karahanee, not sure of the spelling, a Turkish prison for women who are paying off daddy's debt. You walk into this town, where all the girls are showing off their wares. They are clean, regularly being checked by doctors. It was nice going in there to do a little window shopping.

Army Security Base, you can look it up there.

Russian linguist studied at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey California. 47 weeks, 6 hours a day 5 days a week. In fact, I was at the Steinbeck Theater watching a Russian Opera, The Queen of Spades when at the end of the movie the manager came out and told us JFK had been shot. All our teachers could say was they hoped the shooter wasn't a Russian. They didn't tell me why they wanted me in Vietnam but later when I learned that the North Vietnam SAM sites were controlled by Russian officers, I thought, man, if they wanted me to go with a unit of Special Forces into North Vietnam to capture one they were crazy.

Never ever return a call if you don't know who called you.

Some scammers will transfer your call overseas and you will be billed for it. I don't answer calls from blocked number either. Also, I save each spam number under spam so I don't have to answer it. Sometimes when I am really bored I will keep a spammer on the line for as long as I can. Finally, I will tell them that I am not allowed to make financial decisions so send me all your information and I will turn it over to my fiduciary but will not give them her name.

I am 75. I started smoking hashish in 1965 in Turkey.

I was in the army. I got busted in 1966. For my crime, I was sent to Frankfurt am Main to finish out my 18-month tour. The last base was Ft. Meade Md. They wanted me to reenlist, but my next tour would have been as an interrogator in Vietnam. If they had told me about all the dope in Vietnam I probably would have reenlisted. All the VA doctors I have had do not report weed in your blood tests or urinalysis. Better ask yours first before taking any tests.

I could not find the answer to this but,

since he was in a foreign embassy it would depend on the country's law as to whether or not that pauses the statute of limitations.
