Ferrets are Cool
Ferrets are Cool's JournalI don't have a dog in this hunt re: Tampa v Dallas
But I hope Tampa wipes the stadium grass with Dallas JUST SO I don't have to hear Michael Irvin crowing tomorrow. God, he is so obnoxious.
"Top lie boosters get top positions" re: repug circus show in Congress.
Who didn't see this coming. What a shit show.
I bought a 4TB portable HD today...
it is the size of a credit card and only a bit thicker. I got into digital "stuff" back in the 80's and started shooting digital photography in 1999. We shot weddings using 128mB cards.
The entire point of this is that IT and digital technology is one of the very few things that have met or surpassed our expectations of the 60's. We don't have flying cars, but we do have cars that can drive themselves.
Receiving this HD today just made me reminisce about how far we have come.
What else can you think of that has met or exceeded expectation of the 60'?
Synology NAS help--closed RESOLVED
All of a sudden, I cannot sign into my server by using the Synology Assistant. It keeps telling me my pw and user name do not match.
When I go to the web site itself, I have no problem signing into my account.
Any ideas from those of you who use this product?
Thanks
Ever wonder how many airline suitcases go missing because
random people wait at the start of the baggage belts and just walk off with the best looking bags?
Even if one were "caught" in the act, they could say that the bag looks just like theirs. I bet it happens alot.
I keep seeing all these FB post about how happy people are that 2022 is over
and how bad it was as a year. It really confuses me.
Other than finding out that wifey has leukemia, which was a gut punch, but only affected our immediate family, 2022 was not so bad. Not nearly as bad as the two previous years.
So, what are your guesses as to why so many are indicating that 2022 was the worst year since, well whenever?
Personally, I think it's just short memories. Or, maybe all the naysayers are repugs.
While watching the 20th anniversary show for Around the Horn tonight...
I finally realized that EVERY talk debate show NEEDS, no REQUIRES, a MUTE button and a moderator that is not afraid to use it.
Happy Anniversary AtH!!!!!
Independants remind me of the bible verse...Revelations 3:16
So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Which, IMO, is what voters should do to them.
There are Eight million, seven hundred thousand species on Earth...
Humans are the ONLY one of those 8,700,000 that is willfully destroying it's habitat...ie the Earth.
The other 8 millions species could live just fine on Earth without us as they have for millions of years, but WE, as the intelligent species are intent on destroying ALL the rest, including ourselves.
I think I've had an epiphany concerning my ADD
As I've gotten older, especially the last few years, I find it much more difficult to do ONE thing at a time. I used to be able to sit in the theater room for hours, listening to music or watching the extended version of The Fellowship of the Ring, but it is so difficult to do those things any longer. I feel like I NEED to be doing something more. These days, my viewing or listening is chopped into smaller blocks....30 minute anime episodes or 20 minutes of listening to Chicago II before moving on to something else.
And if I do watch or listen to something longer, I feel the need to research something on my phone or check DU.
I have come to believe that this is because I am getting much older...much, much older. I think my brain figures it must cram as much stimuli in as possible because time is running out.
Anyone else feel this way or constantly need to be doing "more"?
