How in the world did the FBI find what they needed so quick?

They were there for a just a few hours, searching a 17-acre estate with 58 bedrooms, 33 bathrooms, 12 fireplaces, and five tennis courts. It would be hard enough to find documents in a 3 bedroom house (assuming it has a lot of stuff), so how did they find it so quickly? Hell, I know poor people with 500 magazines and 1,000's of pieces of paper. He could potentially have 100,000+ clippings in that house.

One of two reasons.

1) There's not much stuff in there. The vast majority of the bedrooms are completely empty.

2) Trump is such a fool that he had them right in the master bedroom, in a safe.

3) Top secret classified documents either contain a special scent that trained dogs can pick up, or give off a glow under UV light.

I lean towards number 2.

Should we still get rid of the filibuster if we win the Senate but lose the House?

It's looking like a real possibility (in fact I would say high probability) that we gain about two or three seats in the Senate, but lose the House. So, if that scenario plays out, would it be a total waste to eliminate the filibuster in January?

I mean, what would the point, since we wouldn't have the House? There's already no filibuster on federal judges and Justices.

Far-right mayor wins GOP primary for U.S. House seat in Nashville

Source: NBC News

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Andy Ogles, a far-right county mayor, won Tennessee’s crowded Republican primary on Thursday in a reconfigured congressional district in left-leaning Nashville that the party is hoping to flip in November. In a warning ahead of the general election, he said, “Liberals, we’re coming for you.”

Ogles, the Maury County mayor and onetime leader of the Koch-backed Americans for Prosperity’s state chapter, emerged among nine candidates after a hard-fought primary for the state’s 5th Congressional District. The seat drew heavy interest from Republicans after GOP state lawmakers carved Nashville into three districts, leading incumbent Democratic Rep. Jim Cooper to announce his retirement.

“We’re at war. This is a political war, a cultural war, and it’s a spiritual war,” Ogles said in his victory speech. “And as we go forward, we’ve got to get back to honoring God and country.”

Ogles will face Democratic state Sen. Heidi Campbell in November. The new district favored Donald Trump over Joe Biden by 12 percentage points in 2020.

Democratic Rep. Carolyn Maloney says she doesn't think Biden will run for reelection

Source: CNN

Washington (CNN)Democratic Rep. Carolyn Maloney of New York said Tuesday evening she doesn't believe President Joe Biden will run for reelection in 2024, the latest Democrat to publicly cast doubt on a second Biden term.

"I don't believe he's running for reelection," Maloney said when asked if the President should run again during a congressional primary debate in New York's 12th district.

Responding to the same question, Rep. Jerry Nadler, who is running against Maloney following redistricting, said it's "too early to say" and that it "doesn't serve the purpose of the Democratic Party" to deal with the question until after midterms. Maloney's other opponent, Suraj Patel, simply answered, "Yes."

Democrats have privately shared concerns about Biden, who is 79 and struggling with poor approval ratings, running for a second term in the 2024 election. The President and his aides have pushed back on any idea that he won't run for a second term, and most Democrats have publicly said they will support Biden if he runs for a second term.
