“Greenberg found that working-class white voters who switched from Barack Obama to Trump are deeply angry about soaring prescription drug prices,” Plum Line writer Greg Sargent noted. “As a result, they vehemently oppose a key provision benefiting Big Pharma at the core of Trump’s renegotiation of NAFTA — which he touts as proof that he’s delivering for his working-class white base.”

Trump is likely to build his reelection campaign on two major issues, Sargent wrote: “prescription drugs and trade.” Both got air time during his State of the Union address earlier in the week.

But the linkage of the two for white, working-class Obama-turned-Trump voters is “game-changing,” Greenberg wrote in a blog provided to the Post.

Ten-year-old Liam Holmes is causing quite a stir after he chose to make a statement against racial discrimination at his local city council meeting this past Monday night.

The Durham City Council invited Cub Scout Pack 451 to lead the Pledge of Allegiance, and the event became one the leading stories on the local news, prompting CBS13 to ask, “Is it taking a stand or disrespecting the flag?”

It’s a question that Liam has no problem answering.

“What I did was took a knee against racial discrimination, which is basically when people are mean to other people of different colors,” he said.

Speaking to CBS13, Liam dad, Scott Holmes, said that he talked to his son beforehand about whether not he wanted to make the move, but wasn’t sure if he’d follow through. When Liam ended up taking a knee, Holmes said he was “really surprised and also really proud” of his son.

Every single one of these cases is a shocking indictment of this government’s pandering to a far-right racism, sham immigration targets and a dog whistle of the right-wing press.

The home secretary has spoken about being a second generation migrant himself. On taking this job, he promised to do whatever it takes to put this wrong right.

We hear about deportation flights to Jamaica this week when you have detained up to 50 black British residents and given them open window removal notices.

Why are you deporting them given this review is not reported and there's been no compensation? How can you be confident that you are not making the same mistakes?

Movement for Justice is working with 26 of those who risk removal. 13 first came to the UK as children. 9 came under the age of 10. 11 have indefinite leave to remain. Another has a British passport.

36 British children will have their passports taken away by this charter flight. Have their parents, sorry, taken away by this charter flight. Once enslaved then colonized. And now repatriated.

Why do you say that these children should live without their parents? Why do you say that the families of black British people who have been killed by your department's incompetence that this is acceptable?
