Ohio student shot at school gets detention for participating in national school walkout then told..

..to apologize

Less than two years ago, Cooper Caffrey was sitting in his school’s cafeteria eating chicken nuggets. Then he was shot. So, it seems fitting he would want to participate in the protests demanding school safety and a stop to school shootings. Yet, when he did, his principal gave Caffrey detention.
-------------------
His principal made an announcement that morning that many were wearing the colors of MSD in solidarity, however, he warned all students that if they walked out, they’d be sent to detention. Caffrey was furious.

When the time came, Caffrey, along with 42 other students, walked past the cafeteria in which he was shot, and out their school’s doors. They were all given detention.
--------------------------
Board President David French even went so far as to say that the students should apologize to the school resource officer.

Caffrey’s father turned to his son and watched the blood drain from his face.

“It was like being shot all over again,” Caffrey told his dad of French’s words. Once again he was back on the cold cafeteria floor, begging for help. French wanted an apology instead.

Alt-right pundits take a stand against Isis-linked attack in France by being overjoyed it happened

Members of the online far-right nebula have expressed their horror at the senseless murders of three people in France by solemnly smirking, smiling and telling all their followers how brilliant they are.

Youtuber Simon Williams, known to his fans as Pepe the Shitlord, marked the tragedy by doing an open live stream where he struggled not to grin.

In the video, he declared, “Once again the PC snowflakes are left crying and bemoaning the loss of life or trying to offer excuses. When will they understand that they should have listened to a bunch of recluses like me and our brilliant theories the modern world?

“So now some murderer in a country I routinely make jokes about has proven me right about absolutely everything I have ever said on any topic. Take that transgender Feminazis!”

March For Our Lives crowd was bigger than that at Trump's inauguration, officials say

Hundreds of thousands of people took to the streets across the United States to protest gun control following the fatal shooting that killed 17 students and teachers in Parkland.

The ‘March for Our Lives’ crowd exceeded expectations, with officials originally forecasting approximately 500,000 people attending in Washington DC.

Estimations suggest the crowd even outnumbered that of President Donald Trump’s inauguration.

Senator Chris Van Hollen had predicted such, and told The Hill:

I can tell you for sure, it’s larger than the Trump inauguration.

Mere hours after the march ended, organisers told NBC News that the estimated crowd size was 800,000 people.

Former VP Biden: America in battle for "the soul" of nation

Former Vice President Joe Biden, still grieving the loss of his son to cancer and unsure whether he'll run for president in 2020, said Friday that America is in a battle for the nation's soul.

The Democrat spoke before more than 1,500 people at Southern Connecticut State University, hours after he was in Maryland to accept the Naval Academy Alumni Association's Distinguished Graduate Award on behalf of Republican Sen. John McCain. McCain is battling glioblastoma, the same aggressive brain cancer Biden's son, Beau, died from in 2015.

----------------------

But Biden — who has traded harsh fighting words with President Donald Trump over who would come out on top in a hypothetical fistfight — said the U.S. can't afford eight years of the current Republican administration.

"We're in a battle for the soul of this nation," he said.

Maddow puts money on Trump pardoning Michael Flynn on Sunday afternoon to distract from Stormy

“If the speculation is true, that the national security adviser to the President of the United States was fired to distract from the Karen McDougal interview, heaven help us,” Maddow prayed. “For whatever is this president and this White House are going to do to distract us this weekend? Because the Stormy Daniels is due to air Sunday night on 60 Minutes.

Maddow then revealed her pick in The Rachel Maddow Show betting pool.

“If you fire the national security advisor to distract from the first interview, what do you do to distract from the second interview?” Maddow asked. “In the you-have-to-buy-me-tacos staff betting pool on the subject, my pick is Mike Flynn … pardon on early Sunday afternoon.”

“I do really love tacos,” the host admitted. “I have a square — Mike Flynn pardon and my timing early Sunday afternoon.”
