grumpyduck's JournalI'm just waiting for some journalist to look into a cover-up
Maybe somebody from the Wash Post: "what are the Republicans covering up?"
I am so sick of all this bullshit partisan politicking. Just do your jobs and run the country, f'chissake!
Has anyone asked Georgetown Prep for a statement?
I haven't seen anything about this. Obviously there's only so much they can say, but I'd think someone would have asked them for a comment.
I think Dr. Ford will testify on Monday
Maybe I'm totally wrong, but there seem to be a lot of little dots scattered among the MSM that make me want to connect them. Let's see what her answer is tomorrow.
Congressional leaders are certainly setting a good example for us
Nothing new here, but geez, the name-calling, the insults, the intimidation, the general antics.
Kids in my schools used to get detention for less than what some of these people do.
Are we too dependent on our political parties?
Whether you're a Democrat, a Republican, an Independent, or anything else, do you really have to just go along with whatever your party wants?
Yeah, I know it's easier than reading about the topics and making up your own mind, but it seems that more and more discussions and arguments -- not just here, but also on the MSM -- are based on Democrat/Republican rather than on the issues themselves.
Over the years, I've known people who admit to being diehard D or R, and proudly say they vote a straight ticket, and I've never understood it.
I remember many years ago, during college, I had a job in a movie theatre. One night a lady asked me if I'd read the reviews for the movie playing, and I innocently said that I didn't read reviews because I wanted to make up my own mind. Turned out her husband, who was with her, was a local critic. He didn't say anything, but he was pissed.
Do DC lawmakers pay attention to public opinion?
I would think they do, but recently it seems like they're just barreling through with what they want.
Emergency alert system: why the president?
Okay, silly and naive question, and forget the politics. Why would this message have to come from the president? Why not just from the emergency management agency itself?
Dr. Ford's yearbook and social media accounts wiped out?
Poking around other sites, I came across a tweet saying that her yearbook and social media accounts were wiped out. I tend to be cynical of tweets like this, so has anyone else heard about this?
"It won't matter thirty years from now."
I just sent the following to both my senators and my representative:
This has nothing to do with Kavanaugh, or with Democrat/Republican, liberal/conservative.
Imagine your son or daughter has just been sexually assaulted or bullied.
Can you imagine you, or a school counselor, or a social worker, or an emergency room doctor, telling your child "Don't worry about it, it won't matter thirty years from now?"
Somehow, I can't.
