?auto=webp&disable=upscale&height=560&fit=bounds&lastEditedDate=1578518129000When the Dreeses returned home on Jan. 1, they found their house in total shambles: Wood chippings, chimney soot and waste from a small animal all over; scratched floors; chewed-up baseboards, window and door frames; and a damaged couch.
"When I opened the door, I saw a ton of wood chips on the ground, so I initially thought someone had broken in and had broken through the door," Dustin Drees told NBC News on Wednesday.
"We initially thought we had been robbed, but then we started looking around. The TV was still there. A gift card that was left out was still there. Nothing was taken. Maybe someone had broken in and our stuff wasn't interesting to them?"
Of the 13 windows in the house, frames around 10 of them were severely damaged, "like someone took a chisel to them," said Dustin Drees, 30.
They soon figured the likely culprit was a squirrel which left its tiny paw prints all over the house. The Dreeses believe the rodent got in through the chimney and then panicked when it couldn't find a way out.
The tiny suspect eventually came out of hiding, jumping out of the couch and trying to escape through the chimney. A pest control service captured the squirrel and took it away.

Finland is solving homelessness not by expecting people to get a job but to give them "housingfirst"
https://twitter.com/GregVann/status/1213622551026421760Finland is solving homelessness not by expecting people to get a job but to give them housingfirst- a small apartment & counselling without any preconditions. 4 out of 5 people make their way back into a stable life & its cheaper for government:

Finland is the only country in Europe where homelessness is in decline
In 2008 you could see tent villages and huts standing between trees in the parks of Helsinki. Homeless people had built makeshift homes in the middle of Finlands capital city. They were exposed to harsh weather conditions.
Since the 1980s, Finnish governments had been trying to reduce homelessness. Short-term shelters were built. However, long-term homeless people were still left out. There were too few emergency shelters and many affected people did not manage to get out of homelessness: They couldnt find jobs without a housing address. And without any job, they couldnt find a flat. It was a vicious circle. Furthermore, they had problems applying for social benefits. All in all, homeless people found themselves trapped.
But in 2008 the Finnish government introduced a new policy for the homeless: It started implementing the Housing First concept. Since then the number of people affected has fallen sharply.
Finland has set itself a target: Nobody should have to live on the streets every citizen should have a residence.
And the country is successful: It is the only EU-country where the number of homeless people is declining.
Anti-gay preacher: Australia's wildfires are God's punishment for the country banning me from enteri
amazing thought process... this God he worships would kill 24 people and millions of animals because he was turned away at the border??https://twitter.com/realTuckFrumper/status/1214343199801643008

According to Christian hate pastor Steven Anderson, those deadly brushfires in Australia are a result of Gods wrath for banning and deporting preachers of the Gospel. That ban includes the rabidly anti-LGBTQ Anderson, who has, in fact, been banned from 33 countries.
Andersons hateful and disturbing rhetoric has resulted in him being banned in all of Europes Schengen States, Botswana, Jamaica, the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Canada, LGBTQNation reports.
This Friday, he took to Facebook to voice his discontent, posting images of the brushfires and writing:
Maybe if Australia werent banning and deporting preachers of the Gospel, they wouldnt be under the judgment of God.
U.S. Stops Dozens of Iranian-Americans Returning From Canada
WASHINGTON Dozens of Iranians and Iranian-Americans were held for hours at Washington States border with Canada over the weekend as the Department of Homeland Security ramped up security at border ports after Iran threatened to retaliate against the United States for the strike that killed its top military leader.
More than 60 of the travelers, many returning from work trips or vacations, were trying to come home to the United States on Saturday when agents at the Peace Arch Border Crossing in Blaine, Wash., held them for additional questioning about their political views and allegiances, according to advocacy groups and accounts from travelers.
Most of the travelers were released after the extra scrutiny, according to administration officials, although advocates said some were denied entry into the United States.
Masih Fouladi, an executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, a Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, said some were held in a waiting room and questioned for up to 10 hours. Later on Saturday night, when others who had just attended a concert in Canada by an Iranian pop star were trying to cross back into the United States, they were denied entry and told to come back later, Mr. Fouladi said.
When one family asked agents why they were being questioned, an officer told them, This is a bad time to be an Iranian, according to Mr. Fouladi, whose group has spoken to the travelers.
These reports are extremely troubling and potentially constitute illegal detentions of United States citizens.

Three Americans killed in Kenya terror attack
https://www.cnn.com/2020/01/05/politics/us-service-member-civilian-defense-contractors-killed-kenya/index.htmlThree Americans were killed in Sunday's terror attack in Kenya.
The Americans -- a US service member and two civilian contractors working for the Defense Department -- were killed in the attack carried out by Al-Shabaab, US Africa Command, which is responsible for military relations with nations on the continent, confirmed to CNN. Two DOD members wounded in the attack are now in stable condition and are being evacuated, Africa Command said.
The attack occurred at a Kenya Defense Force in Manda Bay, Kenya. Sources have previously told CNN that the base was used by US Special Operations forces working with the Kenyans.
Africa Command said the US uses the airfield for missions such as providing training to African allies, responding to crises and protecting US interests in the region.
The names of those who were killed and wounded have not been released
