tragic for 7 kids of Josh Duggar... he's been charged with child porn

On Thursday, headlines were abuzz over the arrest of former 19 Kids and Counting star Josh Duggar, just days after his wife had announced they're expecting their seventh child.

Now, some clarity on what exactly he was arrested for: The 33-year-old pleaded not guilty via Zoom on Friday to an Arkansas federal judge on charges of receiving and possessing child pornography, per KHBS and KNWA. Duggar, the oldest of Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar's 19 biological children—they also have an adopted son, Tyler—is accused of going online to download the pornographic material in question, some of which contain images of sexual abuse against children younger than 12, per court documents.

bestselling lifecoach refers to housekeeper who "cleans the toilets"... it doesnt go well with fans

But in early April, Hollis, the 38-year-old author of The New York Times bestselling books “Girl, Wash Your Face” and “Girl, Stop Apologizing,” posted a video to TikTok that jarred many of her devoted fans.

She recounted that while speaking extemporaneously during a livestream, she mentioned her twice-weekly housekeeper who “cleans the toilets.” One commenter had told Hollis she was “privileged” and “unrelatable.”

“No, sis, literally everything I do in my life is to live a life that most people can’t relate to,” Hollis said, relaying her reaction to the commenter. “Literally every woman I admire in history was unrelatable.” She added a caption offering examples: Harriet Tubman, Oprah Winfrey and others.

This didn’t go over well, coming from a white woman who achieved fame in 2015 after posting a bikini photograph from Cancún, Mexico, that revealed her pregnancy stretch marks.

Some followers had already felt betrayed by Hollis and her husband and business partner, Dave Hollis — close collaborators on daily, intimate, family-focused content — after they announced last spring that they were getting a divorce.

Now, online critics began to examine Rachel Hollis’ words, gestures and history in Zapruderian detail.

Reducing a domestic worker to someone who “cleans the toilet,” said Louiza Doran, an anti-racism and anti-oppression educator, in an Instagram Live dissection of Hollis’ TikTok post, was “the most disgusting capitalistic, privileged flex that was so quick, but it said so much about how she as a human being views the power dynamic and the social hierarchy.”

Hollis, who declined to comment for this article, issued an apology, blaming her “team” for her slowness in addressing the matter. She followed up, more contritely: “I know I have disappointed so many people, myself included, and I take full accountability.”

1,000 birds got stuck in a Calif. home's fireplace, and it's every bit as horrific as that sounds

n a nightmarish scene that would make Hitchcock proud, upwards of one thousand birds got stuck in a fireplace in a Montecito, Calif., home last weekend.

"Every day is different in the fire service!" the Montecito Fire Department said in a statement. "Sunday night, your Montecito firefighters were called to a home where about 1,000 small birds had become trapped in the chimney."

The fire department initially hoped the birds — identified as swifts by Santa Barbara County Animals Services — would fly up and out of the flue on their own overnight. But when they returned on Monday morning the poor birds were still there, trapped behind the fireplace screen.

A new plan to create a chute system to funnel the birds through the house and out the backdoor was more successful, and the birds were returned to the skies.

A similar incident occurred in Torrance, Calif., only last week when around 800 birds funneled into a family chimney and took over the home, forcing the family to take their baby to a hotel for the night.

An hours-long standoff in North Carolina leaves five dead, including two sheriff's deputies

Five people are dead, including two North Carolina sheriff's deputies, after a check on a person who did not show up for work ended in gunfire and a 13-hour standoff, authorities said.

Watauga County Sheriff K-9 Deputy Logan Fox died at the scene in the Blue Ridge Mountain town of Boone, and Sgt. Chris Ward died after being flown to a local hospital, the sheriff's office said in a statement.

The deputies were shot after entering the home. They were responding to a call for a welfare check Wednesday after the homeowner's employer reported that the person did not show up for work and was not answering their phone, according to the statement.

Hagaman said Sgt. Chris Ward and K-9 Deputy Logan Fox were dispatched to a home on Hardaman Circle at 9:44 a.m. Wednesday after the homeowner and his family didn’t report to work or answer telephone calls. Officials said deputies entered the house after seeing all the family’s vehicles were still on the property.

When they went into the house, both Ward and Fox were hit by gunfire.

Husband and wife Miami senior cops are relieved of duties - claim of coverup over crashed suv

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/crime/miami-police-deputy-chief-ronald-papier-and-commander-wife-nerly-papier-both-relieved-of-duty/ar-BB1fZfMD

The City of Miami Police Department’s Deputy Chief Ronald Papier and his wife, Miami Police Commander Nerly Papier, have both been relieved of duty.

According to Miami Police spokeswoman Kenia Fallat, the Deputy Chief and Commander are relieved of duty with pay effective immediately, pending the outcome of an internal investigation.

“No further comment will be made by the department related to this matter,” said Fallat in an emailed statement.

Ronald Paper has been Deputy Chief of Police for more than three and a half years. He was interim Police Chief after Jorge Colina retired and was one of the departments top candidates to replace him.

Husband and wife Miami cops are relieved of duties after whistleblower claimed wife crashed a police vehicle while under the influence and he helped her cover it up - weeks after she was lauded on TV special
Ronald Papier is among Miami's most senior officers, considered for chief
His wife, a 22-year veteran of the force, is a commander of Little Havana

On Friday the pair were suspended, with pay, pending an investigation
Miami Police Department did not give a reason for their suspension
Miami New Times reported a whistleblower claimed they covered up a crash
The whistleblower claimed she crashed a police Ford Explorer on April 2
The anonymous accuser said she was under influence of 'controlled substance'

She allegedly called her husband, who ordered a report to say it was vandalized
Neither of the Papiers have responded to requests for comment

--------------

The email, sent on April 4, alleged that Nerly Papier - a 22-year veteran of the force - was driving 'under the influence of control substances' and crashed a police vehicle into a curb 'at approximately 40 miles an hour' on April 2, blowing out both tires on one side.

The paper obtained a crash report, via a Freedom of Information Request, showing that Nerly Papier was involved in a crash on the morning in question.

The report said she was only blocks away from the police headquarters, and swerved to avoid another vehicle, hitting the curb.

She then, according to the author, drove the white 2020 Ford Explorer to police headquarters before calling her husband.

'Any reasonable person would have knowledge that after striking a curb at a high speed, with two blown tires and cracked rims, the vehicle would be unsafe to drive,' the author wrote, according to the paper.

'You would definitely feel the instability in the steering wheel as well as loud sounds coming from the rims grinding against the public road as well as loud sound and vibrations from the blown out tires.'

According to the email, Ronald Papier then contacted MPD Capt. Javier Ortiz to have the vehicle towed and repaired, claiming it had been vandalized.

Tony Blair's Hair Horrifies Brits Former prime minister sprouted a mullet during lockdown

And now, it appears the longtime UK prime minister has animated Britons again, debuting an astonishing lockdown haircut that has raised eyebrows far beyond the political landscape.

The ex-Labour leader gave his first television interview in several weeks on Tuesday, speaking with CNN affiliate ITV News about the stability of the United Kingdom in the face of Scotland's independence movement.

But it was his arresting mullet that was of greatest concern to many commentators, and within hours Blair -- along with several aging celebrities to whom he was likened -- was trending on social media for all the wrong reasons.
