Trump waved at protesters in Scotland as they shouted "No Trump, No KKK, No Racist USA!"

From the capital of Edinburgh to seaside golf resorts, thousands in Scotland staged colorful, peaceful protests against President Donald Trump on Saturday as he played golf at one of his luxury retreats.

On the beach outside the resort, a dozen demonstrators staged a "protest picnic," chanting "Trump is a racist! Trump is a liar!" as hotel guests played golf just 100 yards away. A line of police, some on horseback, separated the protesters from the golf course. Snipers were also perched atop a nearby tower overlooking the vast property.

Mr. Trump and first lady Melania Trump are spending the weekend out of the spotlight at his Scottish golf resort at Turnberry, on the western coast, ahead of his summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki on Monday.

Some journalists saw the president playing golf. BBC reporter Frankie McCamley posted footage on Twitter of Mr. Trump -- dressed in black and wearing a white cap -- waving at protesters in the distance as they shouted "No Trump, No KKK, No Racist USA!"

Mr. Trump then resumes his game.

Kushner's Firm Deepens Ties to Those With Business in Washington

Eighteen months into Jared Kushner’s White House tenure, his family’s real estate firm is deepening its financial relationships with institutions and individuals that have a lot riding on decisions made by the federal government.

In the latest example, an arm of Brookfield Asset Management is close to completing an investment of up to $700 million in the Kushner family’s tower at 666 Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. The deal will be a boon to the Kushners, who are struggling to recoup their investments in their flagship building.

At the same time, another Brookfield unit is awaiting the Trump administration’s approval of its acquisition of the nuclear-power company Westinghouse Electric. The deal is being reviewed by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States, made up of senior federal officials who consider the potential national security risks of transactions involving foreign companies. Brookfield’s headquarters are in Canada.

----

“Jared knows who is invested with the family business. He can’t unlearn that,” said Don Fox, acting director of the Office of Government Ethics under President Barack Obama and an official in both Republican and Democratic administrations. “There is absolutely potential for him to be influenced if he has to make a decision or provide advice to cabinet officials that could affect his investors. And that can’t be lost on the people that are investing with him.”

The family’s business, Kushner Companies, declined to comment. Peter Mirijanian, a spokesman for Mr. Kushner’s lawyer, said Mr. Kushner had followed the advice of ethics lawyers concerning the sale of certain assets and “is not in any position to comment on business decisions made by others at his former companies since he left.” Representatives of the White House did not respond to requests for comment.

Apparently Ivanka Jared excercise in the dark to avoid Trump protestors

https://www.marieclaire.co.uk/entertainment/people/ivanka-trump-cycling-607385

Especially during Trump’s visit to the UK…

Donald Trump is on English soil, and the backlash against him is growing louder by the day, with tomorrow set to see hundreds of thousands of people in London marching against his policies.

Someone who is bearing the brunt of this backlash is his daughter and political advisor, Ivanka Trump.

----

While the family are known to hire security guards, according to reports, Ivanka and her husband Jared – both advisors to Trump, have taken extra precautions, now working out in the dark to avoid being seen.

’The president’s daughter and son-in-law like to attend early morning spin classes at Flywheel, a nearby studio,’ reported the Washington Post. ’The room goes dark when the class starts – the better to pedal unobserved.’

If you’re having to work out in a pitch-black studio, you might want to re-evaluate some things.

canada's 40th largest company, Hudson Bay, is dropping Ivanka products due to boycotts

https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/hudsons-bay-in-canada-dumping-ivanka-trump-roducts_us_5b496f82e4b022fdcc5988bb

Canada’s oldest department store chain is dropping all Ivanka Trump products.

Hudson’s Bay Company, founded in London in 1670, has already eliminated more than 150 items from its website, including clothing, shoes and jewelry. It will also phase all of the first daughter’s products out of its 90 stores across Canada in the fall.

“As part of our regular course of business, we review our merchandise offerings and make appropriate changes,” the company said in a statement. Officials cited the poor sales performance of the product line owned by the senior White House adviser.

Stores carrying any Trump family products have been the target of a boycott campaign by Canadian consumers protesting Trump administration policies. Anger about the products has been heightened by the U.S. trade war with Canada, as well as President Donald Trump’s remarks last month blasting Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau as “dishonest” after Trudeau told Trump that Canada “will not be pushed around.”

America is down to its last Blockbuster store, 2 are closing leaving one in Oregon

the good ole days. picking a movie up after work. rushing to return it before the late fee kicks in. looking behind the packaging on the shelf to see if there is a movie to rent. Before DVDs.. "it's good to rewind"

https://www.cnn.com/2018/07/13/us/last-blockbuster-america-trnd/index.html

If movie-streaming seems like Goliath, Blockbuster video store owners are an industry's Davids still fighting to keep the brand alive.

This week, there are three stores remaining, but by next week there will only be one store open for business -- in Bend, Oregon.
Alaska's last two Blockbuster stores -- one in Anchorage and another in Fairbanks -- announced they would officially close on Sunday.
Sandi Harding, the Bend store's general manager, told CNN she was surprised her store was the last one open.
"It's pretty exciting that we are the last holdout," she said.

A bit of nostalgia
Bend's Blockbuster looks just like stores from years ago -- yellow on the inside and employees sporting blue shirts. They even have floppy disks and old computer systems, Harding told CNN.

"It's very nostalgic," she said. "We have a bunch of 19-year-olds working here -- it's fun explaining to them what a floppy disk is."
The shelves are stacked with movies, ranging from titles as old as "Citizen Kane" to as new as "The Quiet Place," which was released on Tuesday.

it's not because she's a queen, it's because she's 92 YEARS OLD that trump shouldnt walk faster or

in front of. he is so crass. I guess we are lucky he didn't trip, punch or goose her

‘Did Donald Trump just WALK IN FRONT OF THE QUEEN?’

LONDON — It's generally quite difficult to upstage the queen of England, but President Trump might have managed to do so.

Trump and Queen Elizabeth II met Friday as part of his working visit to the United Kingdom. As the red carpet was rolled out at Windsor Castle, thousands gathered at a “Stop Trump” rally in London's Trafalgar Square. Some hours before, an inflatable balloon depicting the president as a big orange baby flew in the air alongside the Houses of Parliament.

While Friday's protest and an array of sarcastic signs caused quite a stir, Trump's walk with the queen during an inspection of guardsmen quickly became a hot topic.

Described as “cringeworthy” and “uncomfortable” viewing on social media, footage of their walk together came under intense scrutiny. While touring the castle grounds, Trump maintained a relatively brisk walk, which saw the queen, at times, fall behind him as he led the way.
