The Republicans penchant for lowering the bar and excusing Trump's behavior and

actions are seriously undermining our Democracy.

This isn't a joke and it isn't funny.

I'm tired of watching respected Republican figures like Dan Coates make excuses for, or laugh off Trump.

That simply isn't good enough.

It's about time our respected members of the Intelligence Committee denounce this idiot and do so strongly.

We can't just sit around and wait for this dotard to be voted out of office. He needs to be rejected, by all who respect our Democracy.

This charade has been going on long enough. The ass in the West Wing is a menace and a dunce, and he can never be taken seriously.

A.G. Underwood - Part Of Coalition Of 16 AGs - Sues EPA Over Former Administrator Pruitt's Parting G

NEW YORK – Attorney General Barbara D. Underwood – part of a coalition of 16 Attorneys General – today filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) over an order issued on former EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt’s final day in office, which effectively suspended the EPA’s 2016 Glider Rule for a year.

The Glider Rule mandates that most engines installed in “gliders” – new heavy-duty truck bodies outfitted with refurbished or rebuilt pre-2010 highly polluting engines – meet the same emissions standards applicable to all newly manufactured engines. Via a memorandum dated July 6, 2018, the EPA committed to take no action to enforce the Glider Rule’s annual manufacturing cap of 300 gliders per company. This cap is meant to protect our air from the excessive smog-forming and particulate-matter pollution emitted by outdated engines.

“Over and over again, the Trump EPA has sided with corporations over New Yorkers. Even on Scott Pruitt’s very last day in office, he made sure to provide polluters with a parting gift,” said Attorney General Underwood. “By removing limits on the production of super-polluting ‘glider’ trucks, the EPA is breaking the law and jeopardizing the health and safety of New Yorkers – who would face dangerous increases in air pollution and tens of millions of dollars in damages to their health. As we’ve shown, when the Trump administration refuses to protect our public health and environment, we’ll take them to court – and we’ll win.”

They May Be Underdogs, But Seven Texas Democrats Raised More Than Their GOP Opponents

In what’s been described as the reddest of red states, it’s not Republicans raising eyebrows in the fundraising game. The Texas Tribune reports that with less than four months to go before midterm elections – and with candidates competing in every U.S. House race – Texas Democrats are seeing a lot of green. Second-quarter fundraising reports revealed seven Republican incumbents were outraised by their Democratic challengers.

Abby Livingston is the Washington bureau chief for the Texas Tribune. She says the amount of money that was raised by the challengers is mind-blowing.

“The Democrats have been raising piles of money – I’ve never seen anything like this,” she says, “Some of them are [by] a few hundred thousand dollars.”

In one Dallas race, Chairman Pete Sessions was outraised by about $400,000 by former NFL player Colin Allred. However, the most stunning reveal in the second-quarter numbers was House Appropriations Committee member John Carter – who was outraised by MJ Hegar. She took in $1.1 million after a campaign video went viral.

Livingston also noticed one Democratic candidate, Lizzie Fletcher, received more donations of smaller amounts of money, whereas her incumbent competitor John Culberson received a lot more money from a smaller number of corporate PACs.

The Our Revolution Group is touting Alexandria Ocasio Cortez because she represents

their biggest victory yet.

Kudos to her for working hard and getting the vote out.

All politics are local though, and what works in NY-14 won't necessarily work in flyover country.

Some are getting a bit ahead of themselves in believing that AOC is now the face and voice of the Democratic Party.

She's not.

The goal is to win back the House, not find an AOC in every district.

Again, all politics are local.

I applaud AOC on her victory, and I can understand why Our Revolution is thrilled with her campaign. But what works well in NY won't necessarily work well elsewhere. I would like to see Our Revolution stop their fight against the Democratic Party and join us in defeating Republicans. There is way too much at stake. We must retake the House. That is the only way we can stop this atrocity.

Bluegrass and blue jeans: Kaine, Wexton rally Loudoun Democrats at B Chord Brewing Company

Local Democrats overtook B Chord Brewing Company in Round Hill Tuesday night to catch a glimpse of a United States senator riffing on the harmonica alongside bluegrass musicians.

B Chord's Neighborhood Night, while already popular, reached new heights Tuesday, as U.S. Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Virginia) and state Sen. Jennifer Wexton (D-33rd) made campaign appearances.

Wexton is challenging two-term incumbent Barbara Comstock (R) in one of the most closely-watched House races in the country.

Kaine, a former governor and Hillary Clinton's running-mate in 2016, is facing a challenge from conservative Republican Corey Stewart, a steadfast supporter of President Donald Trump (R).

Kaine urged supporters to rally like-minded voters and pay little attention to the polls, which show the incumbent with a comfortable lead over Stewart.

“Polls are about preferences, but elections are about energy,” Kaine said. “I see some polls I like right now. Jennifer, you see some polls that you like, but preferences aren't the same as energy.”
