yaesu's JournalJust found out that all the ballots my republican clerk sent out last week have been voided
So 6000 people, some who have already mailed them or dropped off, now find out they are worthless pieces of paper (the clerks words) because they left a judges name off. New ballots are supposed to be mailed out at a later date. Republican dirty tricks or a simple mistake?
A Big thumbs up to Democratic Underground & its members for providing the best breaking news 👍👍👍

Donald Trump says the House might decide the election as he paints doomsday scenario of mass fraud
Source: Daily Mail
Donald Trump says the House might decide the election as he paints doomsday scenario of North Korea forging ballots, mass fraud, results off by 15% and protests which will be 'put down'
Trump said at a White House briefing that 'at a certain point it goes to Congress' raising the prospect of a contested election
The Constitution allows the House to decide disputed elections, where each state delegation gets a vote
The situation could favor the GOP, depending on the House that is elected
The president railed against mail-in ballots, which he said were fraudulent
President Donald Trump railed about mail-in voting, which he cast as vulnerable to foreign interference and raised the prospect Wednesday that a contested presidential election could be thrown to the House.
He also vowed to squelch any violent protests on Election Day, warning they will be 'put down very, very quickly.
The president exploded about mail-in voting at a White House press briefing after DailyMail.com asked him about his earlier vow to 'put down' any potential violent election protests, which he said would amount to an 'insurrection.'
He then raised the prospect of an election so disputed that it ends up being decided not by the direct vote or the Electoral College, but by the House of Representatives.
'It's not just the counting of the ballots, which, by the way will take forever,' Trump fumed. 'It'll take forever. You think November 3rd? You might not have I guess, at a certain point it goes to Congress. At a certain point it goes to Congress you know that,' he said.
The Constitution provides for the House to decide disputed elections, where each state delegation gets a single vote a situation that could favor the Republicans, depending on the composition of the new Congress.
Although Democrats currently control the House and are likely to keep it, Republicans currently control a majority of state delegations.
Trump unloaded on mail-in ballots, which he describes as fraudulent, even as he defended his own absentee ballot in Florida. Several states use mail-in ballots for their elections.

I know this happened one other time in our history in 1824 when the House decided on "the other candidate" and the one with the most votes wasn't elected

VP Debate Moderator Page Hosted Party Honoring Pence Protg Verma
very fishy discovery that the moderator for next months vice-presidential candidate debate, veteran journalist (now with USA Today) Susan Page, hosted a party late in 2018 in honor of Mike Pences powerful protégé Seema Verma, who runs the Medicare and Medicaid programs for the Trump administration.
The party, dubbed a girls night, came to light as part of a U.S. House report (made public by Politico) on pretty heavy taxpayer-subsidized spending by organizer and Republican public relations type Pam Stevens as part of an effort to raise Vermas profile or improve her brand or whatever euphemism for aggrandizement of the already-powerful you prefer. Turns out Page, not John Q. Public, paid the four grand or so for Vermas party, but perhaps Stevens separately billed the feds for her consulting work on the event. In any event, the controversy isnt really about who paid for the party, but whether a working journalist at Pages level who has been hobnobbing with Mike Pences best-known associate in the Trump administration ought to be moderating his debate with Kamala Harris. Matt Yglesias thinks the answer is clearly no.

How did this snake in the grass get picked to moderate this debate, she's a pencer.
it pays not to be in a rush, my BK experience
So I put my 15 buck order in at the drive through and just as I was heading to the window a little car from the other drive through edged out in front of me which is fine so I stopped and let it take my place. When I got to the window, gave my name there was a little confusion, manager action. Since that car took my place they charged the person for my order so I was charged their amount which was 4 bucks (they explained it to me), I just said sweet and grabbed my order.
half of Bergamo, Italy COVID survivors haven't recovered six months on, providing a stark warning
About half of the COVID-19 survivors from Bergamo, one of Italy's coronavirus epicenters, haven't recovered six months on, providing a stark warning of the pandemic's lingering aftermath
Six months after the coronavirus hit Bergamo, one of Italys early epicenters, nearly half of the survivors havent recovered, and are still dealing with a range of problems, according to The Washington Post.
Pope John XXIII Hospital infectious disease specialist Serena Venturelli, who has been taking part in a study of COVID-19s long term effects, told the Post: Almost half of the patients say no, when asked if they were cured.
Bergamo was closely followed by international media early in the year army trucks had to drive bodies to morgues outside the region, oxygen had to be piped in for patients, and a harrowing video was released by Sky News showing an overwhelmed ICU dealing with a wave of patients.
The long-term effects study began in early May and is based on evidence gathered from former patients visiting the hospital, having their blood drawn, hearts and lungs checked, and discussing how their lives have been since.
Venturelli told the Post the doctors felt a moral obligation to call the survivors back.
Out of the first 750 people who were examined about 30% had breathing difficulties and lung scarring, and another 30% had blood clotting and inflammation issues.

China halted imports from 56 cold-chain food manufacturers in 19 countries as of Monday, covid risk
China halted imports from 56 cold-chain food manufacturers in 19 countries as of Monday due to potential risks of COVID-19 infections, the General Administration of Customs said on Tuesday.
The suspension was issued to foreign producers who had reported confirmed cases in their employees, and 47 voluntarily suspended shipments to China, the administration said in an article published on its official website.
The administration has stepped up monitoring and testing on imported cold or frozen products amid rising concerns over the virus' ability to spread through food products or packaging. Currently, there is no evidence to support transmission of the virus through food.
As of Monday, the administration had taken over 500,000 samples from imported products, their packaging and the interior of containers; six samples taken in Dalian, Northeast China's Liaoning province, and Xiamen, East China's Fujian province, tested positive for the virus.
All other samples tested negative, it added.
The administration has held 121 video conferences with their counterparts in 99 countries and regions and urged overseas food producers to strengthen their preventive measures against the disease.
To date, 2,020 companies from 38 countries and regions have been approved to ship meat imports to China. From January to August, the country imported 6.58 million metric tons of meat products, exceeding last year's total import volume.
