End Filibuster or give California 60 Senators.
I did the math. Based on the 2010 census, figures from Infoplease,...
California’s population was 39,512,223 or 11.91% of US population of 321,418,820 (excludes PR, USVI, Guam, American Samoa).
To equal California’s population requires adding up the smallest 30 states’ populations, from Wyoming up to Connecticut, which total 40,326,920. That means 30 states and their 60 Senators have 30 times more legislative power than a state that just about equals them in population.
And one of the odd coincidences in the arcane rules of the Senate is that 60 Senators are required to end the obstruction of the filibuster. When important measures are needed to form “a more perfect Union,” that creates a real problem for the Republic.
So, until California and its two Senators get the legislative chops of the 30 states that are needed to equal its population, Democracy has a problem, thus the suggestion: DUMP THE FILIBUSTER.

Federal investigators are examining communications between US lawmakers and Capitol rioters

CNN — Federal investigators are examining records of communications between members of Congress and the pro-Trump mob that attacked the US Capitol, as the investigation moves closer to exploring whether lawmakers wittingly or unwittingly helped the insurrectionists, according to a US official briefed on the matter.
The data gathered so far includes indications of contact with lawmakers in the days around January 6, as well as communications between alleged rioters discussing their associations with members of Congress, the official said.
DC National Guard commander says 'unusual' Pentagon restrictions slowed response to Capitol riot
The existence of such communications doesn't necessarily indicate wrongdoing by lawmakers and investigators aren't yet targeting members of Congress in the investigation, the official noted. Should investigators find probable cause that lawmakers or their staffs possibly aided the insurrectionists, they could seek warrants to obtain the content of the communications. There's no indication they've taken such a step at this point.

WASHINGTON — Pentagon officials placed “unusual” restrictions on the D.C. National Guard before the Capitol riot, its commander told senators on Wednesday, saying the military leaders’ fears of a repeat of aggressive tactics used during racial justice protests last year slowed decision-making and squandered time as the violence by a pro-Trump mob escalated.
Military and federal security officials detailed in a joint Senate committee hearing the additional security breakdowns that led to the failure to quell the mob attack on Jan. 6. Maj. Gen. William J. Walker, the D.C. National Guard commander, said he did not receive approval to mobilize troops until more than three hours after he had requested it.
The delay he outlined was longer than previously known and came to light in the latest hearing by lawmakers investigating the attack.
Days before the riot, the Pentagon had removed General Walker’s authority to quickly deploy his troops, he testified. He said he was unable to move troops even from one traffic stop to another without permission from Ryan D. McCarthy, the Army secretary. Once General Walker had approval for deployment, the Guard arrived at the Capitol only minutes later, at 5:20 p.m., and helped re-establish the security perimeter on the east side of the building.
General Walker said he could have had 150 troops to the complex hours earlier. The violent rampage that unfolded over nearly five hours caused injuries to nearly 140 police officers and left five people dead.

It seems Team Trump ordered the National Guard stand down to leave the Capitol Hill cops to fight the mob on their own. If things had gone to plan, meaning murders of Administration and Congessional leaders that day, the resulting chaos would have “forced” martial law and and then Mike Flynn’s electoral “re-do.”

The Trump administration could have easily gotten the money from Congress for vaccine development, but they intentionally chose to take PPE away from hospitals because they were trying to rush vaccine development so that Trump could win reelection while minimizing the pandemic itself.

The Trump administration secretly moved ten billion federal dollars that were supposed to go to hospitals for PPE into vaccine development and likely killed hospital workers.
STAT reported:
The Trump administration quietly took around $10 billion from a fund meant to help hospitals and health care providers affected by Covid-19 and used the money to bankroll Operation Warp Speed contracts, four former Trump administration officials told STAT.
“ Hospitals in need of the funding would be outraged to know that some of the money was siphoned off, even for important uses, because Congress was clear that this money was for providers and clinicians,” said Chip Kahn, CEO of the Federation of American Hospitals.
The Trump administration could have easily gotten the money from Congress for vaccine development, but they intentionally chose to take PPE away from hospitals because they were trying to rush vaccine development so that Trump could win reelection while minimizing the pandemic itself.

Representative Madison Cawthorn has misled the public about training for the Paralympics, just as he misrepresented his education and business history.

Before January 6, 25-year-old Representative Madison Cawthorn (R-N.C.) was known for being the youngest member of Congress, an ardent Trump supporter, and one of the few wheelchair users in elected office. Now he is in the headlines for giving a speech at the “Stop the Steal” rally prior to the insurrection at the Capitol that left five people dead. Throughout his short but meteoric political career, Cawthorn has used his disability to tell a story of overcoming: Despite great adversity, he claims to have achieved excellence through grit and physical strength. Many of his campaign ads featured images of Cawthorn intubated and hospitalized alongside videos of him lifting weights and hurtling forward in a racing wheelchair. But his claims of sporting success—like his accounts of education and business acumen—have often been misleading.
Cawthorn became disabled after a 2014 car crash left him paralyzed from the waist down. By Cawthorn’s own telling, he was a successful business owner headed to the Naval Academy before his injury tragically reordered his life. As it turns out, neither claim is true. The Asheville Watchdog reported that Cawthorn had already been rejected from the Naval Academy before his accident. And Cawthorn’s real-estate investment firm, SPQR Holdings LLC, which he only formed in August 2019, reported no income on its tax documents, and Cawthorn was the sole employee.

The number “88” is considered code for Heil Hitler, according to the Anti-Defamation League.
In a recent statement, Cawthorn said, “SPQR is a term for Rome.”
“We can’t let extremists on any side hijack or rewrite history because those who don’t study history are doomed to repeat it . . . No one needs to study this history more closely than today’s far left politicians who favor authoritarian, centralized and top-down policies.”
A photo on his web site shows Cawthorn with a military-style rifle and pistol in a holster emblazoned with a Spartan-style helmet, a symbol often used by Oath Keepers, which the ADL describes as “an anti-government right-wing fringe organization.” And Cawthorn also has appeared with the so-called Betsy Ross flag, an early American banner also associated with white nationalism.
