Just watching the news and it sounds like Trump's best buddy is going to run for Governor of Maine next year.
Scam calls
Hi every one. I had to get a new pass word. Seems like every so often the D.U. forgets me. Has any one received scam calls lately? I got one the said a suspicious package with my name on it was being held at the border. One said it was from social security Justice Department and a arrest warrant had been issued for me. I hung up the phone. I wonder if others have received similar calls. Be careful and do not give out any personal information.
Diabetics
I am a diabetic, type two, and have been for over twenty years. I am not a doctor, so these are my own personal thoughts. With being a diabetic there is no one size fits all and each person, with the advice of their doctor, must find what works best for them. There is no real cure, just control. There are many medications, but most will say with proper DIET and EXERCISE you MAY lower your A1C. What you do is up to you. A glucose meter and frequent testing will tell if you are controlling your blood sugar levels or not. Have a primary care doctor administer A1C tests on a regular schedule. High sugar levels can, and in time, will damage your body beyond repair. One last thought, if you have family history of diabetes, have your doctor check for prediabetes. If you get the jump on this condition early it will pay off in the long run. I did not and now I regret it.
There are people who have it worse then me.
I got out of bed at three AM and it was snowing. I thought another mess to cleanup. I turned on the television and there was a report on the storm from the mid-west down to the gulf coast. People were experiencing conditions they had never imagined. As for me the house was nice and warm the electricity was on and the generator was ready to go if needed. I have a large snow blower that will take of over two feet of snow. We are stocked on over two weeks of every necessities we need. Sophie the cat even has a new bed which she seems quiet fond of. I will not complain after seeing people in their cars trying to keep warm.
Let us look at Maine
I was watching CNN this morning. They were interviewing Trump supporters. These people still believe Trump will be their president not in 2024but some time in March. I then reviewed how Maine voted by counties. The southern part of the state with a larger population went blue but rural areas were red. I was talking to a man who is educated but a conservative. He said Trump is an idiot but he voted not for the person but for the the ideals of the party. Today look at the people in our communities that want to turn the clock back. People that don't want new people becoming their neighbors, want the mill to reopen, don't want their children moving away or any thing that might alter their comfort zone. Being progressive means changing with the times and until people in Maine accept this fact our state will not reach it's full potential.
Some to think about.
Sunday was cold and many of my friends are property owners of seasonal camps. A couple of husbands and wives were checking their camps and I stopped to see how they were. It was cold and we never go inside so the how are you was short. We generally do not talk politics but one lady said why do so many people support Trump? He lies, is racists, has no respect for women and thinks he is God. The other wife said because his supporters think just like him. After I got home I thought about what the the other lady said. Have we, as a society, become so bigoted that hate has replaced being progressive and realizing times demand change. I guess I will think about it in the next weeks to come.
Strange weather
Is it just me or are we having a different winter? I may have to check my owner manual to start my snow blower. The roof rack is still hanging on the rack. I am not complaining but it is different.
Happy New Year
2021 will be a challenging year. We will need to defeat the virus, mend a divided country and get our economy rebuilt. There is no one approach. It will be a combined effort by every one. I do want to wish every one a safe and happy new year. I don't see a quick solution but I do see promise. Happy new year to all.

I had my computer hit with malware and over two hundred dollars later I have it back clean and working. Hope all had a great Thanksgiving. Hope all are well and waiting for Christmas
Waiting to see
I live up in Trump Country. Now I am waiting to see, when Trump is out of the White House and Biden is in, if Trump's loyal supporters will take down their signs and banners or leave them up for another four years. They may be people who believe that hope springs eternal.
