But the question decent Americans are asking today is the same one we were asking on January 6th, the same one we’ve been asking since November of 2016:

a revolution of what?

What precisely were they overthrowing?
What exactly were they protesting?
How specifically had this nation so grievously wronged them?

As critical as those questions are, they are a fruitless endeavor, because the truth of the matter is—they would not be capable of a response.

This was a nothing revolution: an empty display of cheap anger formed in staggering privilege, made of fake oppression, inflamed by a massive lie—and directed toward a man who fully embodies them: one who has had everything in this life handed to him and is perpetually outraged when he cannot have more.

Also arrested at the Capitol was William Arthur Leary, who owns a manufactured housing business in Utica, New York. In an interview Friday, Leary told the AP that he strongly believes the election was stolen from Trump and that he went to Washington to show his support.

Leary said he doesn’t trust information reported by the mainstream media and that one of his main sources of information was Infowars, the far-right conspiracy site run by Alex Jones. He denied he ever set foot in the Capitol and complained that he was held for more than 24 hours and had his cell phone seized.

“They treated us like animals,” he complained. “They took all our phones. I didn’t get to make a phone call to tell anybody where I was.”

Leary said he remembers seeing a woman, Kristina Malimon, 28, sobbing at the detention center because she had been separated and not allowed to translate for her mother, who primarily speaks Russian. Both women had been charged with curfew violation and unlawful entry. According to a video posted on her Instagram account, the younger Malimon says she was born in Moldova, where her family had faced persecution under the Soviet-era regime for their Christian beliefs.

24-year-old CNY woman with Covid gives birth to healthy baby girl, but is now on life support.

Auburn, NY — Kaylee Gabak was looking forward to the birth of her first child.

On Christmas Day, she went into labor. She and her fiancé rushed to the hospital where, during admission, she was given a routine test for the coronavirus. She tested positive.

The next day, she gave birth to a healthy baby girl, Charlotte.

She and the baby came home briefly days later, but Gabak was soon readmitted to Auburn Community Hospital when she had trouble breathing. She was then transferred to Upstate University Hospital.

Gabak, 24, is now in critical condition, sedated and on an ECMO machine, which uses a pump to circulate blood to bypass the heart and lungs.

Her occupation and where she was most likely exposed to Covid?

The ordeal began Dec. 16, which was Gabak’s last shift at The Commons on St. Anthony, an Auburn nursing home, before she would go out on maternity leave. The certified nursing assistant was asked to work on another floor to help a patient get into bed.

Shortly before she finished her 3 to 11 p.m. shift, Gabak’s supervisor told her the patient she’d had contact with had tested positive for the coronavirus. Her family said they can’t be sure, but they believe that’s where she got the virus.
