'Russian invasion forces in Hostomel, Bucha and Irpin are out of food and fuel. Very heavy fighting in Irpin, northwest of Kyiv. Ukrainian defenders are advancing, forcing the Russian invaders back onto positions in Bucha and Hostomel, but they are surrounded and cannot retreat.'

Anonymous has probably done much more damage in Russia than has been made public,

especially from the Russian side. We know in the west, businesses that have been hacked are loath to disclose it, and sit on the details for as long as possible. This has gotta been 10x more applicable in Russia at war. If I was a Russian IT manager responsible for an operation that had been compromised, I would be looking to get a ticket out of the country ASAP.

No mistakes!

SpaceX has supplied more than 5,000 Starlink dishes to Ukraine.

The units are supplied with Tesla Powerwall battery backups, modified to allow for mobility. "The Starlink technology is being used by civilians in areas under attack that have lost Internet service, and by government officials ... The Times of London reports that a Ukrainian unit is using Starlink to connect its drones attacking Russian forces."

Elon Musk’s Starlink is keeping Ukrainians online when traditional Internet fails

When war broke out in Ukraine, the country faced threats of Russian cyberattacks and shelling that had the potential to take down the Internet, making it necessary to develop a backup plan. So the country’s minister of digital transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov, tweeted a direct plea to Musk urging him to send help. Musk replied just hours later: “Starlink service is now active in Ukraine. More terminals en route.”

Ukraine has already received thousands of antennas from Musk’s companies and European allies, which has proved “very effective,” Fedorov said in an interview with The Washington Post on Friday.

“The quality of the link is excellent,” Fedorov said through a translator, using a Starlink connection from an undisclosed location. “We are using thousands, in the area of thousands, of terminals with new shipments arriving every other day.”

... Internet disruptions can be caused by power outages or by fiber optic cables being cut as a result of shelling, experts said. The Starlink technology is being used by civilians in areas under attack that have lost Internet service, and by government officials. Starlink terminals have also been provided to help the country’s tech companies stay online when the war has forced them to relocate. The Times of London reports that a Ukrainian unit is using Starlink to connect its drones attacking Russian forces.

60,000 residents of Mariupol have 'found themselves in Russia'.

Russian State Radio has reported 'nearly 60,000 residents of Mariupol “found themselves in Russia in complete safety.”'

The Mariupol City Council says residents are being taken to Russia against their will.

"Over the past week, several thousand Mariupol residents have been taken to Russian territory," the city said in a statement. "The occupiers illegally took people from the Livoberezhny district and from the shelter in the sports club building, where more than a thousand people (mostly women and children) were hiding from the constant bombing."

Captured Mariupol residents were taken to camps where Russian forces checked their phones and documents, then redirected some of the residents to remote cities in Russia, the statement said, adding the "fate of the others is unknown."

Bennett's criticism of Zelensky invoking the Holocaust

“I personally think that the Holocaust should not be compared to anything,” Bennett said. He called it a “unique event” in history. Zelensky is Jewish and lost family during the war.

For the record, I agree with him, What I do not agree with is his silence about Putin's justification for the war - a 'special' operation to 'de-Nazify' Ukraine. Germany's ambassador said this -

Germany’s ambassador to Israel condemned Russian President Vladimir Putin’s contention that his invasion of Ukraine aims to “de-Nazify” the country, during an interview Wednesday with The Times of Israel.

“It’s disgusting, it’s abhorrent. It’s a distortion of history, it’s a distortion of the Holocaust. Putin calls everything democratic ‘Nazi.’ With all my soul, I apologize to Ukraine’s courageous Jewish president,” said Ambassador Susanne Wasum-Rainer.

AFAIK, this is a distortion that has not sufficiently offended the Prime Minister, that he felt obliged to speak out. If he has said something on 'de-Nazification', I apologize in advance.

EDIT: I am well aware of the fringe 'ultra-nationalist' groups in Ukraine which are comparable in their reach to fellow travellors from France to Russia itself. What gives Putin's accusation a sting of credibility, is the allusion to WWII, which is precisely what Prime Minister Bennett objected to in Zelensky's speech but apparently, is not sufficiently offensive when summoned by Putin.

Funny sh*t: Ukraine 'unearths' a plot to replace Putin with the FSB chief.

Top Putin sidekick Alexander Bortnikov, who has fallen out of favour with the Moscow despot over errors in the Ukraine war, is said to be plotting to topple the Russian president

As the Russian invasion nears the one month mark, the Ukrainian intelligence service claims to have unearthed a plot devised in the upper reaches of Russian society to dethrone the President.

... It is believed their preferred replacement is spy master and once top Putin sidekick Alexander Bortnikov, who has fallen out of favour with the Moscow despot over errors in the Ukraine war.

The elite plotters, according to Ukrainian intelligence, picked out the 70-year-old because they believe he could spearhead the restoration of economic ties with the west.

Putin praises troops at huge rally in Moscow

Source: AP

President Vladimir Putin appeared at a huge patriotic rally Friday at a Moscow stadium on the eighth anniversary of the annexation of the Crimean Peninsula from Ukraine.

Putin, speaking to a crowd of tens of thousands of people waving Russian flags at the Luzhniki Stadium, praised the Russian military for its actions in Ukraine.

“Shoulder to shoulder, they help and support each other,” Putin said in a rare public appearance. “We have not had unity like this for a long time,” he added to cheers from the crowd.

Before Putin spoke, bands played patriotic Soviet songs about national identity and speakers praised Putin as fighting “Nazism” in Ukraine, a claim flatly rejected by leaders across the globe.

Some people, including presenters at the event, wore T-shirts or jackets with a “Z” — a symbol seen on Russian tanks and military vehicles in Ukraine and embraced by supporters of the war.

I heard the seal flapping applause on the BBC. The four letter words I feel towards Putin ... let's just leave it at that.
