No one had a problem with them when it was a yearly lump sum but the monthly deal has become extremely divisive and made it seem more like a welfare payment and easy to attack. Ironically, it's made it more difficult in Congress to keep it going now the whole thing might end up going away. Was this monthly payment Bernie's idea?
I can't stand Manchin more than anyone else, but if all he was asking is for a work requirement, then we should've taken the deal. I hate that we are losing money for climate protection and Obamacare just for a work requirement for the child tax credit. BBB is so important for the future out of country and planet Earth and to let it all go by the wayside just for a work requirement for a child tax credit, seems ridiculous to me.
Why doesn't a popular progressive governor of a red state get any media attention?
I'm talking about Kentucky's finest...Gov. Andy Beshear! He's young, progressive, crystal clean background, carries himself well in interviews and speeches. He checks a whole lot of boxes. However, because he is not out spouting crazy stuff or doesn't come from a big media center, he is ignored as a national candidate. It makes virtually no sense at all. Our party seems to be only consumed with candidates from the coast, which is part of our problem. Unlike Buttigieg, Beshear has won a statewide race.

It's time to start taking credit for shit and acting like the big dog in charge!! I want to see a full WH spectacle next week. Honor guards, flyovers, whatever the fuck else he needs to do. I don't want to see him signing this in the Oval Office with a handful of Congress critters behind them. He needs to bask in this accomplish cause this is a BFD! This country is crumbling and we need this money yesterday. Get 'er done Mr. President!
Why don't big insurance companies crack down on anti-vaxxers?
They are clearly the lynchpin in ending this pandemic. One thing people everywhere understand is money, and if insurance companies like Humana, Aetna, UHC, Anthem, Kaiser, etc., start either denying coverage to unvaccinated people and/or doubling or tripling their insurance rates, they have true financial incentive to get vaccinated.
I betcha if employers start telling employees that their health coverage will be double or triple the amount they're paying now, you'll see a lot of jabbing going on!
The Biden admin needs to huddle with big insurance and put an end to this non-sense once and for all! The insurance companies need to become evil again with regard to covid.

I know it sounds harsh, but I'm distressed reading today about the US not ever reaching herd immunity. What are we supposed to do as vaccinated citizens? Are we not ever allowed to live our lives cause of those fucking idiots that refuse a vaccine? I'm not in a hurry, but the country needs to be fully opened by Labor Day...all 50 states. Those neanderthals will have had months to get an easily accessible vaccine. If they get sick and die, then so be it! I'm fully confident our health care system won't be strained as we have enough vaccinated people. I'm totally fine with wearing my masks, but events, concerts, etc. need to resume soon. I know there are variants, but pharma is making shots for the variants in the fall. If those idiots get sick and die, then that's on them.
Is there going to be a State of the Union address?
I've heard nothing about it and I must say it's kinda odd. I was looking forward to seeing two women sitting behind the president of the United States. How come there's no news about it?
Is there a compromise to be had on the $15/hr miniumum wage?
Is there a compromise that can be done to mollify the Bernie and AOC crowd on the minimum wage or is it an all or nothing proposition?
I think about people making $8/hr that could use a raise yesterday. Sure, maybe not $15.00, but going from $8 to $12 is a huge deal, at least where I live. I understand if you live in San Francisco, it's peanuts, but in most places a $4 or $5 raise per hour is a BFD. I'm of the opinion is that something is better than nothing. Folks making $8.50/hr know that standing on your principles isn't going to pay the bills.
Is there something that can be done to push this through or do we just wait until the next election, and then the election after that, and after that like we have been doing for the past 15 years?
Will Merrick Garland release the FULL unredacted Mueller Report?
I haven't heard anyone mention this at all on TV. Bill Barr apparently hid the juicy parts of the Mueller Report to save Trump's ass. I wonder if that's why Graham held up the Garland nomination so that they could get this impeachment trial over before he becomes Attorney General and release the full report. Other than national security/intelligence names, secrets, etc., there is no reason to keep this from the public.
Pres. Biden needs to offer Sen. Toomey (R-PA) a plum ambassadorship
maybe to the UK or France. He's retiring anyway in 2022. This would allow us to get to 51 votes, which does make a huge difference. Gov. Wolf would be able to appoint his replacement.

No way the FBI announces that members of the House will be under investigation for helping the rioters until Trump is out of office cause otherwise he would just pardon them.
