Dr. Lorna Breen's father told the New York Times his daughter was 'in the trenches of the front line' and he wanted to make sure she was remembered as a hero.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — A top New York City doctor who treated many COVID-19 patients died by suicide over the weekend, authorities and her father said.

Dr. Lorna Breen, the medical director of the emergency department at New York-Presbyterian Allen Hospital, was visiting family in Charlottesville, Virginia, at the time of her death, her father told The New York Times.

Companies look to limit legal liability for coronavirus infections

https://www.localmemphis.com/mobile/article/news/health/coronavirus/companies-look-to-limit-legal-liability-for-coronavirus-infections/522-ea0d2a6f-291c-4d7f-bd2c-25a5ff699028

WASHINGTON — As companies start planning their reopenings, business groups are pushing Congress to limit liability from potential lawsuits filed by workers and customers infected by the coronavirus.

They appear to have the White House's ear.

President Donald Trump has floated shielding businesses from lawsuits. His top economic adviser Larry Kudlow said on CNBC last week that businesses shouldn't be held liable to trial lawyers “putting on false lawsuits that will probably be thrown out of court." He said the issue could require legislation, and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said Monday that the issue would be a priority when lawmakers return.

2 takeaways RE Memphis alt hospital site, considering gov's reopening

https://www.wmcactionnews5.com/2020/04/25/gov-bill-lee-visits-covid-testing-site-alternate-care-facility-memphis/

Gov. Bill Lee visits COVID-19 testing site, alternate care facility in Memphis

He toured the furious work underway to prepare the building to host 400 hospital beds for recovering COVID-19 patients who can leave the hospital but still require oxygen.

“One of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen. Colonial Miller and his team with the Army Corps of Engineers have essentially committed to do a year or more of work in 28 days," said Richard Walker, chairman of Emergency Medicine.

Officials say they have plans to keep this alternate care facility ready for COVID-19 patients for up to two years if needed.

The article reports that the 490 bed hospiral treatment facility is scheduled to be ready MID-MAY.

And the purpose / intended use of facility is for
"recovering covid patients who still require oxygen."

snip

Speaks volumes about untold long-term lung damage, imo!

"Tennesseans are going to have to stay committed to this concept of social distancing," said Lee. "We’ve only just begun.”

So Dem leaders are preparing because they are listening to scientists and LEE KNOWS! 🤬

Yet, instead of being responsible, he is ending the isolation order. 🤬

Trump’s ‘disinfectant injection’ claim has actually caused people to poison themselves
Published 1 min ago on April 25, 2020By New Civil Rights Movement- Commentary

Although President Donald Trump said that he was only being “sarcastic” when he mused on April 23 that injecting household disinfectants could possibly cure coronavirus, poison control centers have since reported spikes in people ingesting bleach and other disinfectants.

Barely 18 hours after Trump’s public statement, the New York City Poison Control Center received more than double its usual amount of calls including nine people who had Lysol exposure, 10 who had bleach exposure, and 11 who had exposure to other household cleaners. “Exposure” in this case means a dangerous contact that potentially threatens a person’s health or well being.

Trump asked NASA if their technology could sterilize the inside of people's lungs to kill coronaviru

https://www.rawstory.com/2020/04/trump-asked-nasa-if-their-technology-could-sterilize-the-inside-of-peoples-lungs-to-kill-coronavirus/

According to Cleveland.com, President Donald Trump asked NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine if an experimental disinfectant fog in development at the Glenn Research Center could be used to sterilize the inside of people’s lungs to treat coronavirus.

“Cleveland’s NASA Glenn Research Center is collaborating with a Kent-based company called Emergency Products + Research (EP+R) to develop a fogging system that can be used to decontaminate rooms and ambulances for coronavirus,” reported Sabrina Eaton. “Bridenstine displayed the devices for President Donald Trump during a Friday meeting at the White House.”

“After Bridenstine explained how AMBUStat’s device fogs rooms, leaving every surface in the room sterilized, Trump asked whether people could breathe it in,” continued the report. “Bridenstine clarified the cleansing occurs without people in the room.”

This line of questioning occurred just a day after Trump caused a stir by asking his scientists at Thursday’s press conference to look into the possibility of injecting people with household cleaner to get rid of the virus.

On May 14, when the former site of The Commercial Appeal opens as an alternate-care facility for COVID-19 patients, those who require intensive care will be housed on the third floor, in what used to be the sunlit newsroom.

An army of people – some 500 – are working in shifts around the clock to turn the old newspaper building into a hospital large enough to accommodate 400 patients.

“The project is about 26% finished,” said Jim Pogue, spokesman for the Corps’ Memphis district. “A tremendous amount of drywall is going up. It’s a beehive of activity. It is really something to see.”

Obviously, this is not being built on a whim. And Gov Lee is reopening the state??. 🤬🤬🤬

GOP donors pay to bus protesters to cities to demand governors ease restrictions: report
Published 1 hour ago on April 24, 2020By Igor Derysh, Salon

Major Republican donors are paying staffers to organize anti-lockdown protests, with plans to bus demonstrators to big cities to demand governors to let their businesses re-open and send their employees back to work.

President Donald Trump has so far praised protesters, saying the demonstrations show Americans want to go back to work.

"Look, people – they want to get back to work,” Trump said Tuesday. “They got to make a living. They have to take care of their family."

A talk radio caller suggested vaping bleach as a possible treatment for coronavirus, and conservative host Jeff Kuhner assured him the recommendation wasn’t crazy.

The caller, who identified himself as Zack from Stoughton, called into Boston’s WRKO-AM on Friday morning to talk about President Donald Trump’s dangerous suggestion to use disinfectants or powerful light internally to treat COVID-19.
