A third resident of The Villages has admitted to voting twice during the 2020 election, court records show.
Joan Halstead, 73, entered a pretrial intervention program Wednesday that will allow her to avoid potential prison time if she successfully completes court-ordered requirements such as performing community service and attending a civics class, Local 10 News partner WKMG News 6 in Orlando reports.
Halstead acknowledged her guilt as part of her agreement with prosecutors.
The parties agree that the first step in rehabilitation is to the admission of her wrongdoing, the written contract states.
I have no comment about this. Thank you very much, though, Halstead told News 6 when reached by phone Friday.
Two other residents of The Villages accused of voting twice, Charles Barnes and Jay Ketcik, signed similar pretrial intervention contracts earlier this year.

Finland's prime minister received a negative result in a drug test which she took to "clear up suspicions" after a video of the 36-year-old partying sparked criticism, her office said Monday.
Marin's urine sample was tested for the presence of various drugs, such as cocaine, amphetamine, cannabis and opioids, Iida Vallin, a special adviser to the prime minister, told AFP.
"Drug test taken from Prime Minister Sanna Marin on 19 August 2022 did not reveal the presence of drugs," Marin's office said in a statement, adding that the results were signed by a doctor.
"The test was a comprehensive drug test. We did not choose how the test was done," Vallin said.
A video leaked last week showed Marin dancing and partying with a group of friends and celebrities that created controversy across the world.

Donald Trump's personal handling of stolen classified documents increases odds he will be prosecuted

Speaking to MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell on Monday evening, legal analysts Andrew Weissman and Brad Moss walked through how Donald Trump made his legal problems even worse with his latest court filing.
Weissmann, who previously served as the counsel for the FBI and under Robert Mueller's special counsel investigation, explained that the two stories in the Times and the court filing pair well together because they both link Trump to responsibility. The court documents name Trump as providing the requested documents multiple times when asked before the search was executed.
First, Trump was asked for them by the National Archives, holding back several boxes after personally going through them, according to the New York Times. By May 11, 2022, the Justice Department had subpoenaed Trump for the documents he didn't turn over. A month later, he replied, saying he would give them back. So, he turned over some of them, but still not all of them. That's why the FBI was forced to use a search warrant to obtain what Trump refused to turn over.
