however, those actions have been greatly reduced due to the pandemic this year, and it was not apparently a political decision. Although, remember trump wanted to cut off wildfire relief funds because CA is a blue state. And, regardless of what has been done to clear forests of dead trees, etc., climate change will only get worse-with hotter summers and less rain and snowfall creating the potential for more fires.

Also, a refresher training session on how to manage a large incident for the state’s fire commanders has been delayed and may end up being a videoconference, officials with the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection said.

Not the state. This behavior is obscenely selfish and criminally liable considering all the life threatening fires happening, and current red flag conditions.
"I am upset that people are stupid," said Forest Falls resident Linda Corcoran, who had to evacuate her home with her husband. "People don't posses common sense and so yes, I am angry, but not surprised."
There is zero excuse for what this family did, and I hope they have everything legally possible thrown at them. It's beyond stupidity, even moronic.

I thought it had a right-wing stench but too hot and tired to look it up. Did the author bother to mention climate change, because CA is being overwhelmed by devastating changes in climate patterns. I grew up here and the "weather" has definitely upended. Blaming solar or wind power for not providing adequate power during heat waves is ludicrous. Maybe he should mention PG&E, which has screwed this state long enough. The Hill often pushes right-wing "opinions," and it's obvious that continuing to eviscerate the earth for oil and gas profits is the author's mo. Maybe he has a financial stake in nuclear power as well-there are safety reasons for shutting down aging nuclear power plants in CA. Fuck this Asshole. They would just love to turn CA red.

It's blatantly obvious what Navarro is doing and if you have listened to his other rants, he repeats the same gaslighting that certain other trump regime members have pushed to the media. The ONLY reason for a Sanders supporter to vote R is to stick it to Democrats for not choosing him as their candidate for potus. It's an attempt to repeat the rage creating disaster of 2016 about another Democratic centrist candidate, in this case Biden.
I was a Sanders supporter but I'm not suicidal, and I know who to vote for.
