Alex is ok, but no reason why Velshi should not have that slot if he wants it. They replaced Brian Willuams with a female host, could certainly have a male host in the 9 pm slot. Velshi has gravitas, empathy, and graciousness.
As someone said a week or so ago, maybe Velshi prefers the schedule he has now. He's free to do book tours, host various forums etc. His intelligence and genuine curiosity shine through. Oh well. ..

I also think that Alicia Menendez has been doing very well whenever she substitutes for vacationing hosts.
