2. They took much of the really offensive stuff out

The Johnson amendment is not repealed. Student loan interest is still deductible as is medical expenses and (I think) teachers paying for school supplies. Fetuses can no longer start 529 college savings accounts.
But there's still a vast amount of wrong here, starting with the fact that we get crumbs while the rich get 80% or more of the "tax cuts". And never forget the deliberate explosion of the deficit so they can scream about "OMG the national debt!!" in due time as an excuse to cut SS and Medicare.
I think we should start with how unpopular the bill is and the fact that our elected "representatives" voted for it anyway. If they don't represent their constituents, exactly who do they represent?
