(37,648 posts)Saw him on SNL, countless interviews, read about him, read his book "Lies, and the Liars Who Tell Them" or something like that.
You get a sense of someone's character after hearing them speak on different topics over decades, and reading a book, where he lays out his concern for the common "man" (meaning all people).
Despite his success, he seems to be a grounded person, with many friends, and a sense of ethics. Sure, he's a man. But I would have to hear those words out of his mouth before I'd believe them.
That claim, BTW, was the first time he showed real anger at the allegations against him. He plainly stated that that just did not happen.
He was targeted because he was effective in the Senate, and popular, and looked like he might be on a path to the Presidency.
