I am not sure that Al Franken has done more to take on Trump than Kirsten Gillibrand. She has voted against most, if not all, of Trump's nominees. How is Franken the sole reason we have Robert Mueller? How exactly did she hurt us and help Trump in leading the charge for Franken to resign?

I do not see how she really hurt the Democratic Party. Franken's replacement will be a Democrat, so, the Democrats do not lose a seat. Her pushing for Franken to resign, even if people are not happy with her actions, allow the Democratic Party to do something the Republican Party cannot; to say it will not tolerate men who abuse women. Now, that might not help the Democratic Party in that the majority of white women still voted for Roy Moore even though he had been accused by multiple women of trying to date them when they were under-aged, but Democrats can still make the distinction.
