You'd see half the chamber empty.

I remember the camera picking out George McGovern, who only two years earlier had been the victim of the worst of Nixon's "dirty tricks" campaign, sitting there as one of the few Democratic senators who had shown up...a touching moment of magananimity and strength of character on McGovern's part.
