(7,006 posts)And MANY, MANY, MANY African-American Women have been waiting for this moment. However, it is interesting to see so many knives out for Oprah right now in some of these comments. Downright laughable but not surprising in the least.
REGARDLESS...The Facts Are:
1. Oprah was 1st to Endorse Illinois U.S. Senator Barack Obama in 2007.
2. She has the $$ To Finance Her OWN Campaign
3. She Is A Brillant Speaker
4. Although She's Rich Now, She Did Not Grow Up With $$
5. Everyone (And We Mean Everyone) Knows Her Name
6. Policy: She Can Learn That -- As In Domestic and International Policy (Heck, She Learned Morphing From A Journalist On The AM Chicago Show In The 1980's, To Negotiating a Majority Stake In Harpo Productions Company -- Coming One of the Few African-American Woman to OWN, Star in and Produce Her Own Program), to Starting A Multi-Media Production Company and Broadcast Network - OWN, to Becoming RICHEST African-American Woman IN THE WORLD <----- #GoO
7. And Lastly But Most Important, Back To #1. As In Oprah Endorsed then Illinois US Senator Barack Obama in 2007 and GUESS WHAT ---> He WILL DO THE SAME FOR HER If She Decides To Enter The Political Arena. Many of his Former Staff Will WORK FOR HER. Michelle (Who Is Good Friends With Oprah Anyway) Will WORK FOR HER. Heck, even Valerie Jarrett (Another One of Oprah's Close Friends) WILL WORK FOR HER.
Thus, it is totally up to Oprah if she runs, however, there will be a Grassroot Campaign Starting within the next couple of weeks of African-American Women, Men and Others who choose to #JoinIn To Draft Oprah for POTUS in 2020.
Heck, they have even purchased the domain draftoprahfor2020.com and are working on the website.
If she's in, they are in -- and until then -- asking and asking again is what will be done.
As for those knives -- please put them back in the drawer. It's transparent.
