In reply to the discussion: She.Is.Running! [View all]Neema
(1,181 posts)108. It was a great speech. A FANTASTIC speech. But I really hope she doesn't run.
If she runs and wins the nomination, of course I will vote for her. Let me get that straight right now.
But I really, really, really hope she doesn't.
We need someone with experience in policy, someone who knows the Constitution like the back of his or her hand. Not another celebrity. Granted, she's a celebrity with more brains, business acumen (seeing as she actually did build her fortune) and diplomacy than 45 could hope to have in a thousand lifetimes. But the bar set by 45 is so low that it's not even a bar.

So she wins, then what? She has no more experience in government than Trump.

The presidency is a real job. A president has to understand how government works.

I don't think he would have been the nominee if he had smarts and no charisma.

That would be justifiable homicide; no jury in the world would convict me.

Would have to hear more from her, but I would listen closely during primaries. Eom.

Exactly. She could sell "compassion" too and appeal to folks who might not have voted in past.

Obama being a constitutional scholar wasn't the root cause for his success.
