in cheating, hurting and humiliating, and at the same time needs to be loved by those same people. He's not insane, he's capable of understanding right and wrong when forced to. He is mean, petty, bigoted and spiteful, he probably is without conscience, or only a primitive one, without scruples, and devoid of empathy. He frequently gleefully and arrogantly breaks the law. He should have seen the inside of a penitentiary long ago.

But to me admitting obvious, though not publicly diagnosed mental disorder is not excusing him, just respecting reality. All the stern righteousness in the world won't make this flawed fraction of a man into a whole person. And imagining he is is to diminish humanity.

Just imo.
