In reply to the discussion: The GOP Is Disappearing In New York [View all]ProudMNDemocrat
(20,958 posts)34. Republicans are in trouble as a Party.........
Overall, despite safe gerrymandered Districts in Southern States, the GOP is becoming more regionalized. Even Texas, New Mexico, Iowa, and in the Mid West, there are numbers of Democrats making their presence and voices known. Candidates are coming forth to challenge Republicans because they see what is going on in Washington, D.C.
Take the GOP Agenda for example...... Who wants to say to voters, "I approve of TAKING AWAY Health Care, Medicare, and Social Security"? "I approve Tax Cuts for the Rich, while screwing over the Middle Class"? "I approve deportation of the Dreamers, though they are law abiding and work hard"? "I approve of making Voting harder than easier"? "I approve the selling off of Public lands and National Parks for Oil and Gas exploitation"? "I approve deregulation of everything, but REGULATE a woman's body"? "I approve of NO MUSLIMS or other non-Americans from entering the country"?
That is what it is boiling down to, folks. Having to support an UNPOPULAR president and a GOP agenda that makes the Rich richer and the rest of us......SCREWED. Rise up, Resist, and VOTE!!!

I wish people like Oprah, Hillary, Gore, Biden would run against the 'firm' GOP seats in all states.

The NYC metropolitan area is what drives the average up. Upstate and Central NY are reasonable.
