(3,483 posts)23. You're overthinking it
The whole thing with Trump and Bannon is straight out of the professional wrestling handbook (and we know Trump has participated in pro wrestling theatrics), one of the oldest plots ever, where the manager takes his wrestler all the way to the top, then the wrestler turns on him and he's banished, then they fight, then they get back together, then any number of plot twists occur.
This is all designed to keep both of their nincompoop bases busy with something they can understand. Because nothing is more real to those losers than fake wrestling and fake news.
It's all a distraction, and a very handy one, that they can re-ignite instantly anytime, anywhere, that it's convenient for them.

Which means that Bannon, Priebus, and McGahn don't have conflicting interests

Wrong....you hand them over when subpoenaed, regardless of a deal. It's the law.

I agree that he voluntarily handed them over. He may be cooperative, without actually flipping.

He is a truly despicable human being, but it is hard to see what they might have on him

Maybe "towing his line" has other (sexual) contexts? The visuals there are too gross, however.

Hmmmm indeed. And just to add an observation, Bannon DID apologize and praise him,
