My good black friends use this word occasionally in their discussions w/ each other...and we've all talked about it. It's acceptable amongst themselves, just like when gays talk amongst themselves and call each other 'you queen!' etc. It totally depends on the group of friends you're with and how the verbiage is used. In these cases there is no intent to harm and all know it.

I just don't like this word period because it's wrong to use. I'm not to hide my distaste for this word. Period.
