In reply to the discussion: Here we go.....Scalise: No guarantee House GOP will consider Senate immigration bill [View all]Freethinker65
(11,203 posts)5. I suppose the question is what will Trump do when/if DACA does not pass by his arbitrary deadline
If he has nothing to sign, after said time, then he effectively kills DACA. Will Trump have ICE round up all of the expired Dreamers and mass deport them as he has threatened?
Or, will Trump pretend to save the Dreamers from his own executive order thus sticking with DACA anyway? Will he try to rebrand the whole thing as Trump saves the good hombres ?
This nonsense never needed to happen. There is no way a dysfunctional GOP lead congress could have permanently fixed the neglected immigration issue in a matter of months. Instead the uncertainty will lead to further instability. Instability created by an (in)stable genius.

The GOP doesn't want to fix it...if they did they could. I expect deportations and it makes me sick.

We can see what happens...no point in a government shutdown if we can't get them to budge on DACA...

If this is the narrative that prevails, we will ensure that Dems regress to the spinelessness
