8. There is a book I read back in like 1967 or so

It was a novel made from the old "Man from U.N.C.L.E." TV show.

The title is so appropriate today.

"The Devil in Davos"

Not quite as good as "The Unfair Fare Affair" ( Napolean Solo is overcharged for a taxi ride )
