the applies tax credit is that the amount you declare as your income and what these "savings" end up being are the same throughout the country. In CA the cost of living is HUGE and if I made what I do in many other states it would seem like a nice income when in fact it is poverty level in CA. It should be based on the cost of living in each area specifically and not a national amount applied to everyone equally.
