55. I got quite a bit of exposure to that freakazoid "philosophy"

My last wife's previous husband was a fairly sketch creature who was right into it. She and I reunited seven years ago after 30 years apart, and she was well versed in the UCC, flag fringes, names in all caps on documents, what you had to say in court to get off, phony "ambassadorships" and the rest of the "I don't belong to nobody but me" litany.

Luckily it was not central (or even peripheral for that matter) to either her life or ours, and we made it out of LA using real drivers' licences. I successfully deprogrammed her by pointing out that however attractive the philosophy might be, its followers were raving fucking lunatics. And all I had to do to prove my point was to remind her of the dude I'd rescued her from.

She went to her grave believing in chemtrails and the evils of vaccination, though. Win some, lose some. You can make a lot of allowances in the name of True Love.
