81. During the 2016 campaign...

I noticed that a pro-Hillary sign on a lawn near my home here in western PA. I live in a low income Red county full of proud racists pretending to be Christians, so I was surprised to see someone coming out in support of Clinton.

I approached him one day to thank him for having the courage to declare his support in that way, since I have a legitimate fear that my property would be vandalized if I posted a sign.

He was in his 70s, very friendly, and he expressed his dismay that so many people he'd known for decades had gotten behind Trump, completely abandoning ideals and principles that they once supposedly cherished.

I can't speak for the demographic as a whole, but anecdotally (based on his account and my own observations) I'd say that your assessment is right on the money, at least in my town.
