In reply to the discussion: Pro Gun DUers Have Converted Me [View all]Mojorabbit
(16,020 posts)25. I feel the opposite
as a woman who owns firearms and who has been here for years and is extremely liberal, I have watched gun owners called all sorts of names since the terrible event. We have been accused of having blood on our hands and I seen tons of posts by people who have no idea what certain kinds of firearms are by definition, advocating bans on same. When someone tries to educate them on the particulars of the weapons they would ban and how they are typically used they don't want to hear any of it. This place has been like family to me and a refuge politically and I support it monthly but I was almost in tears this weekend at the vitriol spewed against firearm owners. I seriously considered leaving. That is how bad it has been for me anyway.

Amen. It's asinine to let people buy weapons whose only purpose is to kill many people quickly.

The problem is that, rather than have a discussion about what is reasonable...

After they swarmed me the other day, I'm now going to buy lots of automatic weapons for "hunting".
