Pence is going around to energize the evangelical base and remind them of all the RW judges that have been appointed so far.

While he's horrible politically to Democrats, it was one of Trump's smarter moves to pick him as VP since it gave a wink and a nod to evangelicals and likely increased their turnout levels.
