I remember once being sent a meme about how much more self reliant those northerners are in a snowstorm than the victims of Katrina were. The whole thing was just dripping with white superiority.

I called the sender on it and they were shocked. Not so much defensive as simply flabbergasted that I would see it that way. To him it was just libertarian self reliance bootstrap porn.
