69. My Marine veteran son hated marching in parades.

There were many times he had to march in parades. They had to do this usually when they were off-duty. It was not fun. Many times it was very hot. Mainly, it was just having to give up their own precious time to "please our need" to express our patriotism, I guess. He was already doing enough,especially after serving two deployments to Iraq. When George W. Bush came to Camp Pendleton, they were all forced to sit behind him and "show their support". We do like to use our military for propaganda, that is for sure.
