(151,212 posts)who probably were taken in by the propaganda campaign carried on elsewhere by the Russians. The tone of DU during the campaign was very uncomfortable for Clinton supporters like myself and others. Constant alerts on posts and dedicated attacks on thread supporting Clinton were very common.
I don't know whether some of those doing that were actually paid by the Russians to do that stuff. I suspect that a few were. As the indictment indicated money was spend on people who would post anti-Clinton stuff on the Internet. What I do know is that all of that has disappeared now, with very few exceptions. Following the hack, a lot of screen names are no longer seen here. Many have moved to other websites after either being FFRed or refusing to sign the agreement put up after the hack.
I note that at least one of those sites where some have gone is not really even discussing the indictment very much. That's an indication to me that they know their blame or were actively disrupting here.
DU is a friendlier place now for traditional, long-time Democratic Party supporters. I do know that.
Probably the question in the OP will never have a satisfactory answer.
