I see some of the uncharitable things being said about people like Schmidt, and I have to shake my head. Democrats OUGHT to be about forgiveness and redemption. Schmidt is an articulate, well-placed very decent guy who shares great insights and also wisdom. I love seeing him on MSNBC, and welcome him as an ally.

But then I'm not someone who wants one-party rule. Like it or not, we NEED at least 2 parties. Schmidt personifies everything I'd like to see in the other party - whether that's the Republican party or something else.
