4. I'd hope so, but I've been disappointed in their basic human decency so many times recently.

How many times have we said, "This is finally the straw that broke the camel's back for them. There's no way they can ignore something this blatant"? I don't know if it's a sunk-cost fallacy or what, but damn, his supporters appear simply immune to reality. It's discouraging.
