(2,069 posts)Quitting smoking comes to mind as an analogy. So does leaving an abusive relationship, or getting out of any relationship at all.
Some people can rip off the bandage fast. Other people let it soak off in the shower.
Impeaching a sitting POTUS is a momentous deal. Mind you, electing a president should be undertaken with a bit more thought and gravity than many voters put into the effort.
The concept of marriage and divorce make for another analogy. People love weddings, and they have all sorts of unrealistic ideas about marriage.
When it comes time for the divorce, the laws are more complicated, people's emotions are more confused and the process is more lengthy and expensive.
Russia played matchmaker for Trump, and all sorts of funding paid for the dates and gifts and other aspects of the courtship.
The taxpayers covered the costs of the wedding that not many peopled attended. Now, we're paying for the divorce lawyers on our side. From what I understand, Trump has been using campaign funds to pay for his lawyers.
Someone else will have to explain to me how that fact fits into the divorce analogy, beacuse it's beyond my ken.
