General Discussion
In reply to the discussion: You arm a teacher. You train the teacher. A gunman enters the school building. [View all]The teacher has split seconds to react.
Teachers are not killers who happen to be in a classroom. Teachers are people who have an extraordinary amount of empathy. They care. Their first thought, because of who they are, will be to help their students.
The NRA idea that teachers will reach for the hat and the gun is just bonkers. The teacher will try to protect the children and get them out of harm's way, not shoot the intruder.
The NRA is a bunch of sociopathic, uncaring creeps.
We saw that last night. Conniving, criminal minds -- dressed in nice, expensive, polite-looking clothes. That's the NRA. We don't need their "help."
We need the teachers' help.
