128. My republiclown parents have Faux Newz on 80% of the time and have drunk the kool aide.

My dad is a retired union machinist and my mom works for the local village. I started a shitstorm by mentioning that he'd never have retired at 62 without the union and by referring to my moms employment as socialist. They've never been radical wingnuts, but a steady diet of Fox has propagandized them and immunized them to facts.

Example- My son works at the zoo and the polar bear exhibit has some info. panels on the wall about polar ice melt and human caused global warming. Mom loudly proclaimed for all to hear the GW does not exist and it's a big leftist conspiracy. I mentioned the unprecedented string of 100+ degree days in Chicago along with record droughts and later showed her how the (durty librul hippies) at NASA and NOAA both agreed on the science. This did not sway her as Faux Newz has propagandized her to the point that no amount of factual data will upend her fixed views.

Some days it's not worth chewing through the restraints.
