hearing about a parliamentary election on the UK where the Tory (natch) deliberately lied or cheated in some way in order to win, which he did (don't recall the precise offense but I think it was lying about opponent/positions).

Election was invalidated and done over; cheating member never seated at all.

I'd like to see a system like that, not our toothless well-after-the-fact court cases and fines.
