There are very very few Americans who can afford to participate in this "sport" and of those there are very few that choose too. Its an odd very small group of wealthy mostly elitist snobs... like the Romneys.

How much it costs depends on the level you're competing at and what you're competing on.

All I care is that the horse is humanely treated and nothing is done to "encourage" dancing.

Meh, the Romneys wrote off about half again as much as the median income on that horse..
