(976 posts)I stayed because it was for work and the client chose the hotel certainly not me. It was at the old Washington Post Office building in DC. In the lobby it is quite nice. The rooms are pretty gaudy though with gold crap everywhere. Everything is expensive. A domestic beer is $8.00, cocktails, $18.00. Steak was $50 and up depending which one you wanted. It think it went over $100. It did have a nice large screen tv with full cable. The in room bar was pricy as well. It had a nice small bottle of single malt scotch for $150 and a small bottle of bourbon for around $60. The coffee maker was a kind of mini Keurig kind of thing that made a demitasse cup of expresso. Would have preferred a real cup of Joe in the morning though. The bed was too soft for my likes. The service was good. A bed turn down in the evening with a chocolate. You had to tip around five people just to get to your room when you check in.
Overall if it wasn't for the name on the building it would have been an ok stay. Except for all the gold shit. Glad I wasn't footing the bill.
