34. Devil's advocate here: The president's job is to protect the US and defend the Constitution, no?

Would Obama really put his #1 job aside in the name of a criminal investigation, even a world-wide one? I would certainly hope not. (Yes, I know, US-centric, but still it was his job.)

I think it's more likely he didn't know, for certain at least, how big and deep this was. And McTurtle stopped him from alerting us about this threat just like McTurtle stopped him from a vote the open SCOTUS position.

Don't get me wrong, I love Obama, and would literally crawl over broken glass to have him back. But he wasn't perfect, and it's fair to say that standing up to bullies wasn't his strong suit. Plus, tRump was already crying "rigged", so Obama was probably left to hope that tRump would never be POTUS, and this would all come out later.
